This is by far my favorite Batman movie, suit, Batmobile, etc. And this is just amazing. I've decided that I need one for myself. The likeness and realism is just unbelievable! Hot Toys has outdone themselves with this one. As for the cape, it is quite a thin, parachute style material, but I can see why it could be frustrating to spend that much money and be disappointed in parts of it. Man, that one shot where you had him holding the Riddler card looking down at it, combined with lighting angle, it looked like a shot from the film. Absolutely incredible. I love it so much! Congratulations on an amazing figure. New sub here!

I almost wore out a vertebra in my neck from constantly shaking my head in disbelief at how sick this figure is. I know they are getting better all the time, but when it comes to something like this, it's hard to imagine how they could possibly improve. Surely this is the pinnacle of craftsmanship where these collectibles are concerned?! Btw, your lighting is off the scale, mate.
The chest piece and the mid section are actually different materials. The figure is correct. The film is very dark and you can't make out all the details but if you see the suit in person it looks very different.

As of right now, I'd say that this has a much better likeness and more accurate looking headsculpt/cowl than the latest Inart development pieces, which imo, have gone backwards from the first promo shots and the figure Justin previewed in Vegas. Awesome review Dean!! Your comprehensive coverage; fantastic lighting, angles, close-ups; passion is as good as it gets, but what I appreciate most of all is your authenticity and that you're not afraid to call out any flaws or failings (as opposed to some reviewers who fear they may upset insecure/blinkered collectors for not offering compliant views, or apologize for having a different opinion). Very nice camera quality, really shows off the figure's details! Hot Toys has to step up their cape game for these prices. They do beautiful figures and materials, then give us black fruit roll-ups for capes. 😀

The cowl and faceplates look so real. So much so that I'm left wondering if it's possible to get it looking any better with a silicon finish or at a larger scale. Ultimately it's the talent of the artists, and in this case, I believe they have reached perfection. One of, if not the most, accurate portraits Hot Toys has ever produced.
Mixed feelings, Dean. Details on the face and skin are incredible. Some of the textures of the suit are out of scale. That cape would have to be replaced. Your reaction on that alone scares me. I passed on this, and I am not feeling regrets. Can't wait to see how you pose him, like how you pose your BB figures. Just not sure.
I keep looking at the suit in film images and pictures from when it was on display. I think the problem with the chest plate is the texture. I can't seem to find a good closeup of the plate on the actual suit...but the closest ones I have found don't show any kind of texture at all. I think if this looked more smooth then it might not clash so much.
No clue that the regular version didn't come with the sticky bomb gun. Thats really fucked up. I only got the regular one because i didnt want all the extra BS, especially that base. Was never going to use it.

HNY buddy. I did the same as you. I have mixed feelings on this topic, I think the likeness on both Hot Toys head sculpts are better. I preferred Inart's original promo headsculpt's to ones they have kept tweaking (eyes, chin, stubble - not enough - width of the face looks off to me). I also prefer the accessories Hot Toys are providing. I give Inart the edge with the quality of materials, suit colours, body proportions.
I completely agree man, I got a notice they got more of the rooted in after I got the scuplted, but I'm fine with the scuplted. But I've been on the wait list for a while from sideshow. Completely forgot I didn't preorder this one. I love both tho
Got to agree with how cheap the cape looks. They should have made it 2 layered like the 2nd cape meant to be used with the batcycle, included with I think the deluxe edition or the batsignal bundle. The 2nd cape looks way better and looks to have stronger wires as well.
man, you convinced me, this is going to be my first hot toys, i wanted to get specially an ironman, due to the materials and articulation, but batman is my fav character, but those rubber suits are just too fragiles for my taste, but this, oh man, this is what ive wanted, also because i loved the movie of course haha
Hot Toys have done a wonderful job with The Batman 1/6th scale figure, despite a couple of stumbles along the way. The head sculpts in particular are quite impressive. This looks like a shrunken down Robert Pattinson from the film. That's how realistic the figure is. The skin texture, stubble, and paint application have been done really well. The movable eyes are always a nice inclusion. The overall texture work in solid. The stitch work on the suit is very good. The figure comes included with some nice accessories. I love the fact that the batarangs are die cast metal. The proportions are on point. Articulation is pretty good. I like the display base as well. There are a couple of issues of course. The chest armor and upper torso armor are different from each other, but I can deal with it. However, the cape is simply unacceptable. It's pretty bad to be honest. I don't know why Hot Toys struggles so much when it comes to making Batman capes. Despite a couple of issues, they went all out with this release. The figure definitely has a nice shelf presence for sure. Congrats on picking this one up. Thanks, Dean! As always, I really appreciate the hard work! Keep it up! Happy New Year! the cape was a bit if a letdown for me. it needs something that draped better. another letdown was no sticky gun with this version. so we have an empty leg holster 😕. overall I thought it was a pretty decent figure. looks better in hand 👍

Awesome video review! I’m still waiting for my standard version of this Batman figure from Sideshow. I’m pissed that this version doesn’t come with the sticky bomb gun!! If I would’ve known that, I would’ve ordered the deluxe version but I didn’t really want the wing suit or the extra base diorama.
