    I am grateful for the careful explanation and guidance given. I have a cocker spaniel, working style not show, and she looks like a mini springer so now she sports a springer cut and looks great! Thank you.

    The app for my iPhone and iPad only play 3 seconds but when I go to the full site through a browser I can see the entire video. Thanks for checking! (:-}

    I am having trouble with Part 2 of your video. Do you have it available on DVD? This is the best video I have seen on grooming Springer's. Thanks.

    Hi - I just checked it on my computer and my phone and it loaded and ran without any problems... Maybe try reloading the page?

    Do you have any other CZcams videos other than this 3 parts. You are an amazing teacher.

      +Lynn Loving - No, these are my only grooming videos. I did them years ago for some friends who were trying to groom their Springers, that's all :-) Thank you!

    I tried to watch the 2nd of 3 videos and the 2nd video was only 3 seconds long. I think something happened to the video. I am really interested in these videos because I am learning to groom my 6 springers.

    What grooming products do you use ie. Shampoo / conditioner or sprays ?

    • @Chartwell1
      @Chartwell1  Před 9 lety

      I like to try new things, so I have quite a few favorites. Some favorite shampoos are Furminator, Kenic Emu Oil, Isle of Dogs Whitening or "Stay." I don't use much conditioner, just rinse them in dilute vinegar (like 1/2 cup in a gallon) and leave it in. Sometimes I mist the coat with Isle of Dogs Detangler, or The Stuff. If I think they need a real conditioner I use Cure Care or Aussie Moist (human conditioners.) For show prep I use a bunch of different products, but that covers the maintenance stuff!

    how many teeth on that thinner.. and are they true thinners or are they blenders?

    • @Chartwell1
      @Chartwell1  Před 7 lety

      This was back in the day, I used a "44/20 Taper Fine thinner" which is actually really a blender since one side is a straight blade. By far my favorite thinners these days are the Kenchii 46 tooth 5 Stars, also actually blenders. I do have one pair of actual thinners with teeth on both sides, made by Talyn, but I rarely use them as the teeth hit together.

    Do you not ever use a #7F?

    • @susancampbell9017
      @susancampbell9017 Před 10 lety

      I don't, as I am trying to approximate a show trim ( where you do not clip the top coat at all) so a 7F is too short for my taste. But if you like a shorter trim it is a good choice. Just makes it a little more blending work to make sure you don't get the dreaded "hula skirt" look as the top blends into the feathering!

    this grooming is for shows ?

    • @Chartwell1
      @Chartwell1  Před 8 lety

      No, this video shows how I pet groom my retired show Springers. For dogs actively being shown you could not use clippers on the back, and there is a lot more work done than this, especially a lot of thinning shear work and shaping of the underline.

    just doesn't get any prettier than that
