I actually want to be one. I have a certificate in horticulture, I am currently taking classes for degrees and certificates in landscape management and design, as well as I am working on being a certified arborist and taking business classes. I already have my own small landscaping business and once I get a good established company I’ll go for a degree or certificate in landscape architecture. California is a prime location for landscape architects and I can’t wait to have a big company doing this.

The real story is that landscape architects aren't glorified gardeners or nurserymen, they truly are taught to design everything in the landscape outside the walls of the buildings and work with architects and engineers and ecologists and aquatic biologists and archeologists to design living spaces for people that fit into the natural world with minimal or no impacts. Parks, college campuses, golf courses, towns, villages, subdivisions, schools, churches, municipal grounds, corporate office grounds, you name it and LA' s generally have been taught how to design the outdoors for mans use and nature's benefit.

Not really fair for him to say it's not his idea. Certainly it was his idea to put it *there*. Certainly people would say it was his fault for using it if it ended up not fitting that particular site or creating some unforeseen issue. Better to say he got inspiration from another project.
