      I grew up in pgh in the 60's and 70's. Moved away in 1980. Still have family there. It has come along way since then! Hope you like it there!

    One of the cons for me is the large number of small towns and neighbourhoods that seem almost abandoned and derelict. You will be in a nice place and the next town over will look like something out of a zombie apocalypse. Many rust belt places have this type of blight and decay, unfortunately. But many places here do not feel safe to me and you are kind of stuck to getting around in a car. You just dont know what to expect from place to place. Also I have been looking for a very detailed public transportation map of the entire city and there doesn't seem to be one. It is really unfriendly if you like public transportation and spontaneous urban exploring, you need to research before you go, also for safety reasons.

    What if I'm not rich? You're talking about jobs that require college degrees and housing that keeps getting more expensive. What about the vast majority of us who are poor and don't have college degrees?

    This is ridiculous. A couple of real estate agents trying to sell a terrible place to live. Out of control crime, traffic, air quality, and people leaving. Good luck!

      There are no jobs here if you are not in healthcare. It is a one industry town. It is very sad, it is just healthcare and service jobs like fastfood or working in a big box store or strip mall, construction and trade jobs. They keep saying Pittsburgh is this great tech city, but I don't see it. They have been trying to push the same narrative for Detroit, too. It skews elderly and there is nothing to do.

    Just moved to Pittsburgh from Oklahoma 2 years ago. I will say that Pittsburgh's down town architecture is beautiful. What's not beautiful are the shootings that occur every morning I wake up to the news. The city itself is beautiful BUT the surrounding areas are ugly and looks like 3rd world country. Old homes so close together and not maintained. Another con, the state legislators are over ran with Republican bigots. I'm only here for another year and then, San Diego. The Pittsburgh Police department has a bad reputation for aggressive tactics towards Pittsburgh citizens. The police officers have foul mouths. I'm from the South originally and these police officers use the F word constantly except they think there's an O in F**K. They say FOCK. There's no O in that word.

      Lol the evil republicans have a strong presence in San Diego too, just FYI.

      Dude, Pittsburgh proper is overrun by Dems. Residual of the strong union presence. Aaaand Pennsylvania in general is one of the most corrupt states, largely run by Democrats.

    • @bgthtr6404
      @bgthtr6404 Před 2 lety +1

      @@mariescott9625 Perhaps, but the state legislators Republicans outnumber Democrats in the state house. That's Pennsylvania's problem.

      Allegheny county is super blue. The problems blighting the area are much deeper here than Dem v Rep.
