RIP to my dreadlocks, hello full shaved head buzzcut. This was not an easy decision for me and I'm mourning the loss of my favorite hairstyle ever. Doing my best to practice non-attachment and live my best bald life.

At the end of 2018, my husband and I quit our jobs, sold our yoga studio and 90% of our possessions and moved into our 1969 VW bus. We spent 18 months traveling the globe exploring, rock climbing, adventuring and eating delicious vegan food along the way. We recently settled in Joshua Tree, CA with our pup Gypsy, and have been adjusting to a minimalist life in a house.
It looks so soft now. I love it. Before your hair was really the focus of your look, now your eyes are. Beautiful.

I agree. You can see "you" now instead of your hair. It's a striking difference in an awesome way. Honestly, you rock this look and I love it! Possibly more than anyone else I've seen so far.

Seen a lot of women recently who have shaved their heads during lockdown. Read one of them said she had hidden her insecurities by hiding behind behind her hair for so long that she felt more confident and empowered by shaving it off. Wonder how many other women feel the same after shaving theirs off. Respect to them
I was like that. I was letting my hair define me as a person for so long as well as hiding behind it. It felt great to take that weight off my shoulders (literally and metaphorically). No regrets at all.

I had that too. Always felt like hiding behind my long hair. Now i have short hair since 2016 and i love it. Never really shaved it though. Only cut it but id love shave it one Day to 2mm or so

I shaved my head twice, in 2012 and 2015 and I loved it! Actually I shaved it completely, like not even 1 mm of hair 😂 it was so liberating! 😍

I shaved off my hair several years back because I have thyroid issues which cause my hair to go brittle. It's a liberation, not being defined by my hair or how I look.
I did the same for the same reason! I was in a living hell everyday watching it fall out now I’m free and happy!
I also accepted Jesus Christ which means I’m really free!

I've recently cut off my dreads after 10 year, due to weak, thinning hair but didn't dare go so far as to shave it ( still not sure what is stopping me as I do want to). So brave to do it on camera. You look lovely.
You look amazing. Your short hair lets your face take precedence, and that is a very good thing. The sections may take a few days to settle down and get less patchy, so another buzz a week or two after might even things out even more.
Showering after that would be the most satisfying feeling ever
Women shaving their heads isn't because of an 'emotional breakdown', it's because it is empowering. Hair does not define us.
Thank you for saying that :). I shaved my head completely bald nearly 6 weeks ago, I am nearly 50 yrs old. People at work quietly wondered if I was having some sort of breakdown, I was so surprised. I did it because I could and I have loved the experience so far,totally freeing:)

Same! I haven’t buzzed my entire head but I’ve had it incredibly short, been growing it out since March, not fun!!
I had to cut my long hair many years ago b/c of headaches...I can't even wear a ponytail anymore.
You look fantastic with short hair. We should all be wearing hats all the time anyway. At least hair grows back and you can decide later what you want to do.

I love it! I have been dying my hair for years. With this pandemic, my “wisdom ribbon” has grown to over an inch. You have given me the courage to cut off the color when my hairdresser is able. I’ve already called her. Thanks.

You're beautiful! And having had very short hair in the past, you'll be surprised how quickly it grows out. I miss having short hair, it can be changed into so many different cuts in not much time.

Girl you are GORGEOUS!! Long or short hair, you totally rock the look. I’m interested in what lead you to this decision since I remember from the video where you deep cleaned your dreadlocks and then got them styled again that you cut one open and it was totally clean inside. Either way, you are beautiful inside and out. ❤️
Rebecca ... if I may be so bold ... I think you look wonderful! I have been a hairstylist for 50 yrs. and have done many shavings myself on clients, many of which had to do with dreads ... I feel your pain LOL.
Every so often you get someone who should have always had short hair ... that someone today is you my dear. Now I am not saying do not grow your hair out, as that decision is yours, but know that you will not have these doubts again if in the future you decide to do it again for you have already made that emotional jump ... BRAVO.

I have daily migraines and my hair was just weighing me down. I had wanted to shave my head for a couple of months now but I kept telling myself, “nope, your head shape is not right for it”. Well today I finally did it, and to my surprise, my head shape is a ok. I feel free and so so so happy! Yours looks great!

If i am honest shaving your head to get rid of the dreads was the best solution you could think of. And not the combing out for hours. You made the difference for people who are sick of dreads. And your hair looks healthy again. It is fresher and your face pops more. This was the best choice.
That is one of the bravest things I’ve seen. You look beautiful with the short hair. The big earrings are a must.

I love it! I shaved my head in October due to a bad dye job. I was scared and nervous. But I loved it and it is still growing. It's a little longer, but dries in no time.

Love your attitude towards cutting it, as you said it's just hair! I just stopped dying my hair since in quarantine have died it since early 20's now turning 40soon and noticed I now have grey hair! Now thinking going gray to simplify my life😉.suscribed such beautiful soul you have!
It only takes about 2 year for good growth. I shave my head all the time. It feels amazing. And it will grow, so no worries!!

Can we talk about how this is a whole MOOD!!!!! You look like America’s next top model!!!! You look amazing. I’ve shaved my head several times and the grow back process it quite long if your hair grows back slow, but you can absolutely manage that with putting washing your hair in a prenatal vitamin rinse.

I don't think I could ever do that unless I had no choice. Oh I hope I don't get that no option decision ever. It would stress me out so much and it would be so difficult for me.

Your eyes are beautiful - before the hair was the focus. I did cut of mine today. I have had a bad hair dresser last time and my hair was so messed up that I decided to do the buzz cut. No regrets - it feels amazing.
I had always had long hair with a few exceptions while in hairdressing school but I always grew it back due to my insecurities. When I was diagnosed with cancer I decided to cut it all off!! About 13 inches!!! I gave myself a nice pixie cut and went from my red hair to bleach blonde!!! It has been a year and a half and I am happy to say I am in remission!!!! But I have decided to keep my hair short. It is to my chin right now and I recently went gray/silver!!! I am 50 years old and it feels so empowering to go gray gracefully now and not to hide behind all of my hair!!!!

Only just found your channel. I know you said you didn’t want to shave your head but blooming heck, can you not see how BEAUTIFUL you are? Yes, you loved your dreadlocks but your whole face and features are visible now and you are STUNNING! I’m very envious. I just wish I had the balls to do it, but at the size I am, my face is far too fat. One day! I’ll just do it! xxx

U look amazing! I had cut my hair short due to quarantine simply because I was insecure about my naturally frizzy hair, and I also have bleached it before making it look worse. So I decided to start over, and although I look like a guy, I feel so much more confident!

I cut my dreads off after ten years (just for change) and I had a headache so bad the next day. Luckily it went away 💕

I have always wanted to get a buzz cut unlike your unique situation. I like my hair now it has some length but it is a huge frustration in my daily life. this reminded me that that’s always an option and to just chill for the time being. it’s always an option
