Hi Tim, Thanks for your highly detailed video. I just got the same model V-Stream and I'm going to install it on my BMW R1250GSA tonight. I tried the Puig "touring screen" that you mentioned in your video, and although it was tall, the cut-out design in the middle of the screen created more buffeting on my shoulders and arms than the stock GSA screen.
Your vid is now 4 years old & I'm wondering if you still are using it and how it has worked for you?

I think the real reason you got the GS was that you had already added everything possible to the KLR and simply wanted another clean slate to start with. 😂

Thank you for your helpful video, Tim.
At 6'7" I think I'll go for the largest version. Did you need to install the screen stabiliser kit as well? At more than half of the cost of the screen itself I'm a little hesitant of pulling the trigger unless the kit is essential.
    Best wishes.

      Hey Keith,
I think you would definitely need the taller (22" z2488) model. My screen (19.5" z2487) is very stable even at high speeds. I would think the 2488 (2.5" taller) would be okay without the stabilizer. If it were me. I would try the screen without the stabilizer kit first. You can always add it later if you find you really need it.
Please let me know how it goes.
      Thanks for watching.

If the tallest is too tall, you can always cut it down an inch at a time until it suits you. Much harder to lengthen a too-short shield.

Hi Tim, Great vid. I was told there is some kind of support bracket NC sells to reinforce the shield since its bigger than stock. I didn't notice you talking about it or saw it installed. Does the shield move around any more than stock at highway speeds?TIA,Rob

My pillion rider is complaining about buffeting with the stock windscreen. I'm 6' 5" would the 2487 be tall enough? What are your thoughts on going the next size up for my height and any thoughts on how it changes the wind dynamics for the pillion. Thanks, another great how to video!

      Hi Dave,
The #2488 would give you the best (tallest) coverage. At 6'4" the 2487 is just barely keeping my head out of the buffet. Like I stated in the video, I still get air, which is good. My pillion is shorter so she has not complained about the airflow.
If you don't mind looking through the screen, I would try the taller (2488) screen. You may still be able to look over it when adjusted down.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
      Thanks for watching.

Really helpful video, thanks! How tall are you? I'm 5'11 and I'm looking for a windscreen that covers well and doesn't need brackets. How do you like it after 3 years?

Is that wind screen stable at speed ? I have seen some that use a stabilizing bracket system . I have a 1250 GSA and am thinking of replacing the OEM wind screen. Thanks for your help

After having the new windshield on your GS what do you think about it and did you install the support brackets that are available for it ?

But it’s not electrically adjustable like the K and R bikes. 🙂

True, That would be too nice for a GS :)
      Someday I would like a K1600GTL
      Thanks for the comment.
