I do not own the rights to this video. just some nostalgia and promotional stuff for comedy central. Different clips and bits of Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn
Little did I realize how much I would miss this show and how the greatest go to early. Thanks for saving these shows. I would like to think you could have a show like it today but probably would be considered to offensive. How could anybody watch and think not only is it great comedy but great conversation between folks with different points of view. It's f ing awesome
I loved this show. This is where I was introduced to all these comics some years ago. Scary seeing Greg Giraldo and Patrice O'Neal on the same couch, that's sad.
No one can take a bomb better than Jim Norton. He dives on top his bombs full body and accepts it. It usually winds up being 10 times more funny than if his joke had worked.
I remember seeing that episode with the "May I Speak To Ben Dover?" screen and laughing really hard. It's hard to believe that it's been almost 10 years since I last saw this show.
this was one of my favorite shows growing up i wish there was something similar that was televised everything else like it is in podcast form these days or a youtube video format or some bull shit, these were real comedians.
I can only imagine how many people would lose their shit if this show existed in 2015. Boycotts, firings, and public executions would be demanded by SJW's everywhere.
Scramblieggs That's sort of what Colin kicked off the air. Comedy Central's idea of 'edgy' comedy has always been attacking soft, safe, predictable targets like Palin or Bush. Make any mention of race (unless it's at the expense of whitey) or religion (unless it's at the expense of Christianity) and it goes from comedy to racism and intolerance.
@cantilever Of course those guys (Norton, Quinn, etc...) are going to say that. It sounds alot better than "our show got cancelled because no one watched".
@nbadraft08 First: read the other comments. Second: Twitter Jim Norton (or Colin Quinn) and get the skinny from the source. Third: Tough Crowd was replaced by...Battlebots. Not Colbert...
@Rimbaud1531 I'm not saying it wasn't a moneymaker...simply not such a juggernaut a la "South Park" that it was indemnified from the dislike of the brass for some of its content. Again, assimilate these words: Jim Norton specifically alluded to this. Try emailing him for elaboration if you wish...
@cantilever So you're telling me the only reason Tough Crowd was cancelled was because it got low ratings & wasn't making the network any money??? WTF!?!
@Kagemusha08 Jim Norton has repeatedly indicated that it WAS the point of view of the show, vis-a-vis the topics that were addressed, that brought about the show's demise...
@cantilever It got cancelled because of low ratings I believe. And I don't think that the un-PC nature of the show had anything to do with the cancellation.
@Rimbaud1531 I'm telling you it was cancelled because it wasn't such a huge moneymaker that it was insulated from the backlash against its controversial subject matter...again, as Jim Norton alluded to...
@speedformercy Why would you assume I'm seventy, dummy...? Just 'cause it says so on my profile...? Yeesh, keep your helmet firmly affixed... *snicker-snicker-chortle*
For further insight I would suggest to any doubters of comedy central's bias to read what Jim Norton wrote in his blog about what the brass at comedy central put them through while they were doing the show. I know it's hard to believe but the good hearted, never take themselves to seriously and always open to good joke "progressives" tried to discourage them from discussing politics and race/ethnic topics. They felt it did not appeal to the demographic at CC's business model was aimed.
how can a show whose host encourages the audience to sit in silence when a joke bombs ever have been canceled? once i went to a letterman taping and as we stood in lines in the lobby, some guy gave us a pep talk that literally included, "Listen guys. If Dave tells a joke that you don't think is funny or that you don't understand, laugh a lot anyway." He also said to smile a lot for audience camera shots. it's even worse than canned laughter, especially since Dave was actually hilarious
@cantilever IM PRETTY SURE IT DONT MATTER IF ITS LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE. ANYBODY AFFILATED WITH ANY POLITICAL GROUP IS GONNA CANCEL PEOPLE WHO SPEAK THEIR MINDS
@cantilever Well the definition of a liberal in politics is someone who is 'open to new opinions and willing to discard traditional values' and a conservative is someone who 'holds onto traditional and is cautious about change'. It isn't subjective, just look at the words 'liberal' and 'conservative' it's pretty damn obvious what they mean. The people at Comedy Central sound more like liberal fundamentalists and you can't just throw them in with all 'liberals'.
@Rimbaud1531 I watched. You watched. Plenty of others watched. Are you calling Quinn et al., liars? Norton is one of the most painfully honest comedians I know of...talking candidly about his self-hatred, suicide attempts, struggles with alcohol, and sexual peccadilloes. But what he said runs counter to what you'd prefer to believe, so you discount it out of hand...saying you "don't care" what he says. I don't respect that attitude, and I discount the judgment of a person who exhibits it...
everyone who misses this show probably doesn't get how clever The Colbert Report is. See, it seems like it's a conservative show to compliment The Daily Show, but whenever Colbert is agreeing with conservatives and pretends to be dumb and irrational, he's actually sarcastically making fun of conservatives and FOX news! Get it?
@cantilever they canceled the show because people complained, fearing damage to the company and its reputation. that might affect their bottom line. worrying solely about money sounds conservative to me. liberalisms essence is the freest speech possible.
@cantilever But that's the thing being a 'liberal' and what that means has been completely skewed particularly in America. So when you say 'liberals are doing this and that' I'm just saying that those people simply aren't what liberals are supposed to be. It's not simply these fake liberals either it's also conservatives. There is as much fuss over sex (conservative issue) as there is over racism ('liberal' issue) but for some reason you choose to ignore one side.
I just started watching this clip. I LOVED this show for the other comedians (I hate Quinn personally) but does this have the clip where Dennis Leary makes a snide remark about Nick Dipaolo writing jokes and Nick points out that Dennis doesn't write jokes anymore and if he did his show wouldn't have been cancelled. I love that moment. Fuck Dennis Leary. RIP Bill Hicks.
@cantilever Your talking about 'oversensitive liberals', the whole concept of being a liberal is that people should be allowed to SAY what they want and DO what they want (ie Gays allowed to marry). An oversensitive conservatives are just as bad, trying to ban anything which criticizes Christianity and banning bad language etc. So you can try point the finger at one side but both sides have their share of oversensitive idiots.
@nbadraft08 Did you read any of my other comments on this thread...? Your arguments have already been addressed and dismissed. Twitter Jim Norton and ask why the show was canceled. And then remind all the liberals who condemned Tracy Morgan for performing a comedy routine what the "essence" of liberalism is...
@TheSorrow1O1 Lemme tell you something: those people self-identify as "liberals." Who are you to tell them they aren't? Your definition of what is and what isn't properly "liberal" is your subjective value judgment. And I'll say it one last time in the spirit of optimism: the issue at hand is the cancellation of "Tough Crowd"...and the liberal brass at Comedy Central was responsible for its demise--not conservatives--'cause they didn't like the show's tenor. Read that last sentence again.
@necrofecalmatter I dont know what a "jagoff" is, but politics had nothing to do with this show getting canceled. Politicians dont have anything to do with what Comedy Central chooses to put on air. So actually, you both are wrong. And are you making the point that conservatives are bad for trying to get "bad words and racism" off TV?
@cantilever It WASN'T a moneymaker. And I really don't care what Norton says. Quinn & Dipalo will feed you the same crap..."The show got good ratings but the liberals at Comedy Central were afraid of the backlash from the shows politically incorrect content"...what a load of shit. If the shows rating were any good it never would have been cancelled. It's as simple as that. I loved the show too but let's get real, most people simply didn't care enough to be offended by it.
Patrice - " Im guna wrap one of your jokes to myself and run through Palestine" haha legend
He saved the show with that one line
HOLY SHEEEEEIT Coling Quinn clicking his tongue to talk to Kevin Hart i never though somebody would do it.
If he did that today he'd get Kramer'ed
The bushman segment was one of the funniest things ive ever seen on TV. I still remember it when it happened on TV. Damn I feel old and I'm only 30 :(
I LOVED this show. It was so refreshing to see a bunch of comedians just being funny without censoring themselves.
This was the best show to me, comics being comics, led me to find some of my favorite comics.
This is bringing me so much joy. This was my absolute favorite show when it was on. Thank you so much!
Comedy Central dropped this for Blue Collar Comedy???
Colin Quinn rules.
Tough Crowd and Blue Collar Comedy are both pretty good.
Damn now I know how awesome this show was.
its giraldo that puts leary in his place.
Little did I realize how much I would miss this show and how the greatest go to early. Thanks for saving these shows. I would like to think you could have a show like it today but probably would be considered to offensive. How could anybody watch and think not only is it great comedy but great conversation between folks with different points of view. It's f ing awesome
Never in a million years would I have guessed Will Ferrell would be on this show. Amazing!
I loved this show. This is where I was introduced to all these comics some years ago. Scary seeing Greg Giraldo and Patrice O'Neal on the same couch, that's sad.
0:34 Two greats gone..
No one can take a bomb better than Jim Norton. He dives on top his bombs full body and accepts it. It usually winds up being 10 times more funny than if his joke had worked.

20
miss this show
I always loved this show for actually putting the bombs out there. Great insights into the stand-up world.
Seeing Greg and Patrice share a laugh like that is so upsetting.
How come?
@@NoR110011
Greg Giraldo and Patrice O'Neal both died just a few years after this appearance. Both died too young.
Greatest show of comics ever!!!
Patrice sitting next to Kevin Hart is hilarious without them even saying anything. You could fit like 3 Kevins into 1 Patrice.
I miss this show :(
This show so ahead of its time
Was it though? Sadly something like this will never be on tv now
Exactly. I think seeing them laughing is reassuring.
Colin Quinn to Kevin Hart: "You look like a little bushman, whats the problem?"
We NEED this show to come back in 2020/2021 to SAVE America from itself. Offended cancel culture is a self destructive cancer.
1:44 still gets me every fucking time.
Anyone got a link to the George Carlin episode? I still haven't seen it.
it just makes it all the sweeter
1:24 - Dipaolo justs strolls in and steals it.
"Touch Crowd Colin with Quinn" lol
Welcome to the jim norton show everybody!
i laughed my balls off
It's great because it's brutal AND accurate
1:43 I could listen to this all day, Colin kills
Please make this show again.
"that was like a money shot with richard simmons" hahaha
this was one of my favorite shows growing up i wish there was something similar that was televised everything else like it is in podcast form these days or a youtube video format or some bull shit, these were real comedians.
damn, bring this show back already.
Good save by Patrice at 4:07 : D
@Jesusismothra "asscandle" that's such an epic word. may i use it?
I never thought I'd see the day when Patrice O'Neal outdoes Greg Giraldo and the other guy with one joke
RIP Patrice.... his last day on the show before the stroke they were talking about how much they want this show to come back...
2:42 HAHAHAHA
Any place you can find all 200+ episodes?
i need to know
The answer is out there...
Wacka wacka
I can only imagine how many people would lose their shit if this show existed in 2015. Boycotts, firings, and public executions would be demanded by SJW's everywhere.

@TheSorrow1O1 Good Lord...you didn't read my comments. Ask Jim Norton--he's a primary source. You can find him on Twitter...
@nbadraft08 First: read the other comments. Second: Twitter Jim Norton (or Colin Quinn) and get the skinny from the source. Third: Tough Crowd was replaced by...Battlebots. Not Colbert...

WTF!?!
B.C.R. - Before Colbert Report
I’m just now realizing that this is one of the top ten the best shows ever aired🫢🤭😆
Jim Norton did that Pac Man joke on O&A not only did it get a mild chuckle but it ruined the bit they were going to do for the next 40 minutes
@Kagemusha08 Jim Norton has repeatedly indicated that it WAS the point of view of the show, vis-a-vis the topics that were addressed, that brought about the show's demise...
4:50 George Carlin FOR THE WIN!
@cantilever It got cancelled because of low ratings I believe. And I don't think that the un-PC nature of the show had anything to do with the cancellation.
the ratings were good dummy
@Freshhhhh1982 Indeed they are, dummy...
:)
@Rimbaud1531 I'm telling you it was cancelled because it wasn't such a huge moneymaker that it was insulated from the backlash against its controversial subject matter...again, as Jim Norton alluded to...
@TehKarmaPolice theyre never gonna...real talk is "scary". best show on tv when it was on
