They didn't edit anything out it's a new performance of the original title theme which until now was never available outside the movie. The "motion picture soundtrack" album did not contain this track for whatever reason so until now you could never hear it except in a low quality version from the film itself with background noise and sound effects playing over it.
Everything is fantastic up until the actual movie starts. Shame it couldn't live up to the original, maybe if it had the same writers and director. Either way, the music is still great.
