The problem I have today is when I try to tell young Blacks about some of our history, they don't want to hear it. Somehow, they follow some old teachings of subservience that should have died decades ago.

The name came from Native American Indians because the buffalo was a fierce animal and because of that, the Black Soldiers reminded them of the buffalo because of the color of their skin and their hair resembled the buffalo's fur.

Celebrating the Buffalo Soldiers is equivalent to the Five Tribes celebrating a time when they owned slaves. The thing is, we Natives don't celebrate slavery, but we got some Blacks who celebrate some Black Folk helping the setters attack and steal from the Natives.

My great-grandfather was born in Mexico 1902 and in order for him to become a u.s. citizen he had to join the Army and become a Buffalo Soldier yes that's right my great-grandfather on my mother's side was a Mexican American Buffalo Soldier till this day he is buried next to my other ancestors in Nogales Arizona. I've also got Spanish Yaqui and Cherokee blood in me as well, on my father's side my great-grandfather fought the Japanese in the South Pacific I've got a long line of service in my family and look forward to joining the Navy and just a few years.
