- After struggling myself to learn the ins-and-outs of Horizon Worlds Build Mode, I decided to make my own tutorial series to help new builders learn how to make things in Worlds.
This video will go over the basics of the Build Menu, building your first objects, as well as some great tools and tricks along the way.
HUGE thank you to my good friends Cameron David and Poz Long, who helped make these videos the best that they could be.

I’m making these videos for fun in my spare time, but I’m hoping to publish a video every 1-2 weeks for this series.
If anyone has any suggestions or questions for future videos, drop them in the comments!
All the best. Doing great job. When you complete publish and earn on Udemy

Great I'm looking forward to it it helps me relieve the stress of trying to learn this Thank you Again for doing this
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping me understand how to build better. Bravo!
really helpful, super clear too, thank you
please produce another video, trying to learn how to build worlds :D
Had a quest for quite a while ,only just gone into Horizon worlds didnt know you could do all this . reminds me alot of Dreams on playstation that i loved. Great tutorial really clear and concise
Do they not have pre-built chairs so we don't have to build them from scratch?
Definitely, there are plenty of options in the Asset Library! Building the chair in the video was just to put all of the building tools into practice, but the Asset Library is a great place to find things like chairs.
Hey David! These videos are great! Can you tell me how to delete an object that has a red barrier around it? Im not even sure how it got there lol
If there is a red box around an object, that means that the object is locked. If you look at your right controller while in Build Mode, you'll see a padlock symbol (it should be in the "down" position of your tool options). Select that tool, then put your selector inside of a locked object and squeeze the trigger to unlock it. Then you can move that object around freely as you please! Note that you need to select the Lock tool before you put your selector in the object, otherwise you'll accidentally delete your object instead (since putting your selector in an object will change the "Lock" tool into the "Delete" tool).
It's helpful to lock objects when you keep accidentally moving stuff that you don't mean to--this usually happens when you're building something small next to a large object (like terrain), and the hit box of the large object is interfering.
Hope that helps!
Why doesn't Horizon Worlds have interactive tutorials built in?
Great question! Especially for scripting, that would be incredibly helpful.

How do you actually get into build mode?2
Tilt down on your right controller’s joystick. If you look at your hands while in preview mode, you should see the Build Mode icon there to indicate where that button is. I also go more into depth on this in my “Episode 0” intro!
