I think we missed an opportunity post-covid for a window of enforcing good habits and eating patterns for people. The US (1,219,487 dead) and Mexico (334,958) suffered some of the worst deaths during the pandemic because a large (if not the majority) of the adult population is overweight and does not exercise.
Being overweight itself induces additional stress on to the cardiovascular system without any virus present. Before we think about asking questions of vaccination we need people to take some responsibility for their own health.

  • @Jules-Was-a-Gnostic
    @Jules-Was-a-Gnostic Před měsícem +6

I appreciated this discussion, however must zero in on the part abt "best estimates". (This is probably the main point of disagreement, for some minority of Sam's audience).
While I generally take Sam's point, that we'll have many future problems if we all become conspiratorial, and automatically skeptical of government-issued statistical information, I think that a degree of skepticism is warranted in this particular case.
I realize that it seems clear on the surface, that excess deaths coinciding with waves of infections points to causality.
However, I place at least some emphasis on the observation, that many deaths during these time intervals were more likely to be designated as "Covid related," even if that designation was questionable, in at least some number of cases.
I'm glad we can quickly develop and administer new vaccines, even if medical industrial complex becomes an issue in a highly market-driven society (nevertheless, for the most part, I'm also glad that we're a market-driven society).
However, in the case of this particular vaccine, I think we have enough reliable reports and information to merit some concerns, and also to somewhat question its importance, and efficacy.
While the vaccine helped a significant number of individuals at elevated risk, both the use of ventilators (in extreme cases) and being indoors, probably increased the risk of mortality in many cases, and vitamin D along with other underemphasized, low-risk interventions also helped.
Of course, the limited efficacy of the vaccines over an extended period must also be considered, because the risk of some possible unknown side effects is increased with a greater number of boosters.
Additionally, there's some question involving long term risks, perhaps related to encephalopathy or tissue damage for some individuals, and maybe even for some batches of the vaccine more than others, and for some 'brands' more than others.
To return to the above point, regarding a degree of skepticism as to the specific number of verifiable excess deaths:
Although this enters the territory of a challenging moral calculus, we must ask ourselves what kind of mortality rate justifies an indefinite imposition of martial law, in a free society.
It's difficult to say that some lives matter more than others. However, if deaths per flu season were quadrupled, and those afflicted were children, most ppl would weigh this consideration much differently than an approximate number of seasonal deaths, among elderly and at-risk populations.
Furthermore, when we begin to at least somewhat question the exact number of deaths due directly to Covid, the calculus is further altered:
Lockdown measures taken in a free society should be proportional to the actual or projected rate of mortality.
So, was the death rate similar to 5-10 flu seasons combined? If we question (appropriately) the statistics, could it have possibly been more like, 2-4 flu seasons combined?
What kind of restrictive measures are justifiably taken, in what has been colloquially described, as an 'extra bad flu season?'
Within certain limits, ppl in a free society are permitted to endanger not only themselves, but even to endanger others to a certain degree, as long as they do not cause direct and deliberate harm to individuals, nor introduce an unacceptable amount of risk to the wellbeing of the populace.
The bar for impinging on the rights and freedoms of individuals, must always be set as high as is reasonably possible, and is practically feasible.

They distribute a mRNA analogue comprising C-bond N1-methyluracils replacing the normal N-bond uracils at every position of the RNA-sugar backbone. A trick to increase metabolic stability which unfortunately has an undesired tendency to cause ribosomal slippage - an error in translation into proteins resulting in production of various unforseen proteins having a plausable ability to act as unintended antigens. Its not that vaccines did not work or an achievement that they were delivered so quickly.
It that they came with serious side effects, especially heart related. The public policy of coercion that was later adopted was the big problem.
The vaccines after the 1st few variants did very little to prevent the spread of covid, the risk to young people was much lower than older people and the incidence of mayocarditis much higher.
Also natural immunity was belittled and recovered people were forced to get vaccinated or lose their livelihoods. Also subsequent boosters were pushed with very little supporting evidence, some of them conducted only mice studies.

The other murky aspect that this clip glosses over is that the vaccines do appear to have saved lives (especially in the at-risk population groups, i.e. elderly, obese, etc.) in early 2021, especially when there was a significant proportion of people who had not yet been exposed to the virus. However, the data on efficacy and how many lives may have been saved is MUCH less clear from late 2021 and onwards, especially as vaccinations were recommended and often mandated for younger and younger people who were at minimal risk from the actual disease, MOST of whom had encountered Covid by then and already had antibodies. That is, there is a big difference between "vaccine" impact in the early and later stages of the pandemic, and given the toxic nature of the spike protein, the jury is still out as to whether ongoing pushing of the mRNA vaccines in 2022 and onwards was a net harm or not.
