- I meet a lovely couple who have just had a new Narrowboat built by Bourne Boat Builders and they invite me inside for a full BOAT TOUR. My reconditioned starter motor gets fitted to my old Lister so I am now able to continue my adventures. So I head off down one Canal Lock to the lovely quaint English Village of Acton Trussell to meet up with friends and we cook dinner on the towpath in a dutch oven - Chips Yum Yum!

After selling my house to experience an alternative lifestyle I bought a canal boat and a camper van which as a solo female who loves to travel, gives me the best of both worlds. I have recently got myself a new addition to the crew, a fabulous companion - my little rescue dog Bonny who is an absolute joy. I also work full time off grid from my tiny home and trade at canal festivals as The Pirate Boat

Wow! Bonnie and Heidi make the Pirate life come alive! A trip to the Vet and a visit with Mom and Dad makes a welcome above. Now it's a real life once again. Heidi, I'm so excited....I bought my first narrowboat yesterday- on my birthday too!! All being good with the survey I could be on her in 2-3 weeks!!! Watching you as a solo female cc-er inspired me to go for my dream so thank you. I must get my dog Molly to watch this video to learn from Bonnie how to behave and not to jump into the canal every time she sees a duck or Swan! Your pup Bonnie is a beauty. I too have a rescue female frenchie named Gigi. They are so grateful and loving. Gigi was used as a breeder and discarded. Now she’s the queen of the house. Same color as Bonnie.

Heidi on the Rum Wench, with old engine Lister, it had a bad starter, but Steven has fixed her. Got bearings and Bendix and new "bushes" too, while Bonny has learned things and seen cattle too!

There was a pirate named Heidi. She kept her boat so very tidy. She would share her rum with any ole bum. She steered her boat to keep it a float so Bonnie was always kept dry.
So glad you and Bonny found each other. She is definitely coming along with her training. I could not be happier for the both of you. Also happy for Bonny’s Grandparents. You can see how happy they are with her❤️🏴☠️

Oh I really do want a fancy new one … it will be better for hosting friends and family and not as much hard work as mine is very deep drafted which is difficult as a solo boater 😄🏴☠️

Bonnie has settled in well with boat life. I've been painting in my spare time this week. I hope you have some nice times while you're up the Shroppie.
Glad you are mobile again. Whenever something needs fixing on my old Rav car it costs but I know that I don't have to worry about that again. I get told that it would be better to get another car but I know what has been done on mine so know where it's at. Enjoy your gorgeous wee girl, she really is enjoying being with you. it was so nice seeing Bonny with your parents - especially when your dad had the frisbee - she can’t half jump!! And then later trying to eat Rosie 🤣
A really hilarious game I used to play with my jack russel that you and Bonny might enjoy is this - you get a puppet, I had a rabbit puppet, and I’d creep it towards Reggie and he would go absolutely nuts, loving it. It was such a laugh. It also helped with our recall training - the toy became the reward ❤
(before anyone comes at me for encouraging animal cruelty IT WAS A PUPPET 😂and I never ever had him off the lead in rural areas where small furry animals might reside - ok? Great 👍🏼)
I have one quick question re the video - you said “I love the name of your boat” and then “don’t be rude” as you went past it, but I didn’t ever see the boats name....what was it? 🤣🤣
I’ll go back now (as I always do anyway) and rewatch the video, just in case I’m going senile and I missed it - sorry in advance if I did 😂

Great video Heidi. Alfie is a really nice boat but hardly a pirate ship so just hang in there with the Rum Wench. It's definitely more becoming of a pirate queen. Besides with all that storage you would never know where you last stowed the rum. All in all I agree with the other comments. This is a noteworthy addition to canal life, especially the triple fried chips.YUM!!

Got to this one a bit late, Bonny is a delight to watch, a few days after you posted this I had to put my Chica down, after 16 years the cancer and chronic ear infections were just too much, she's not in pain anymore may you have many joyful years with Bonny 😪😋 fond memories

Hi there just started watching your channel arrr Bonnie's so so adorable I realised this video 6 months ago so I bet she's settled lovely now with her new life and was lovely that she's made your life so complete .we lost our 15 year old dog prescious few months ago we miss her so much .but we were blessed to have her she was gentile fun loving and our little baby ...but we have such great memories x

Bonny is settling in so well. You haven't stopped smiling since she arrived it's so good to see. I remember when we got our first rescue dog Molly when my son was about 7yrs old. He told us she was going on holiday because the vet said she was going to Spain. 😂I chose not to explain that one and said I'm sure she will enjoy it.

So glad Bonny is recovering and healing so quickly. Your Starter is all repaired but you still need to keep your "spare Key" (the hammer). I was not able to watch last week and I was going through "Heidi withdrawal" couldn't wait to turn on the and watch today. You are wonderful! Thanks for always making my day.

I understood that BOAT stood for, Bring Out Another Thousand, glad you got your starter motor fixed. As for looking round other boats, like houses, they all look similar, but after putting your own stamp of your personality on it they all are different.

She’s doing you proud Girly doing you proud that Baby Bonnie. Your a lucky lady adopting her. She so loves you or she wouldn’t have learnt recall so quickly. You’re doing her proud too. I’ve rescued dogs for over 40 years now and ended up with 7 once, ranging from a chihuahua to a Great Dane ridgeback cross. I was a lucky lady as you are too. I’m down to one of the original 7 but I’ve recently rescued a pug, not too short nosed ( kennel club are trying to stop that in the breed ) she’s adorable. Finn is 14 nearly 15 but still fit. Great to see Bonnie is responding to the training regime. Well done on your persistence. Have you taught her on 'down'? One word that can be a life saver to get a dog to drop on the floor regardless of what the dog is doing. It's a hard command to teach but well worth the effort.
We are working on down … I’ve got her to sit and paw now … however if she distracted outside she won’t sit 😂 it’s going to take a long time but we will get there and she is worth it ❤️❤️
