      I hope you know that that's stupid. If you use normal batteries, they won't have the necessary power output without breaking (~1A max). Lithium Ion batteries however can discharge with 5A, some even with up to 100A. So with normal AA batteries, they might even explode if you short them like that, unless you put some resistors in between, which means that there probably won't be enough discharge to heat up the wire, and even if, it'll take quite long.

      GOODTECH - Creativity and Science But is it will heat by dc voltage since it is off hair dryer which works on ac

    • @goodtech1
      @goodtech1  Před 6 lety

      The heating depends on the gauge, length of wire and the voltage applied to its end. The wire will get heated irrespective of AC or DC voltage.
      However, Different gauge and different quality nichrome wire has varying resistance.
      If you use smaller length, then the wire will be heated quickly, thus damaging the battery or even can break (because of overheating).
      If you use a longer length, then it may not get much heated at all.
      To decide the length of the wire needed to work with your supplied voltage, you can refer to the nichrome wire datasheet.

    hi goodtech I think there is a mistake because your construction use only one battery in the video

    • @goodtech1
      @goodtech1  Před 8 lety

      In this both the batteries are connected in parallel and both the batteries are used to heat up the coil. However, i did make a similar lighter earlier using a single battery as well czcams.com/video/b68EEbI1FCQ/video.html

    Dude, I appreciate what you do in general, but this is FRIGGIN DANGEROUS!!!! RISK OF EXPLOSION!!!!
    Do not attempt this if you do not fully understand Ohm's law and lithium-ion batteries. Look up Lithium battery fire before even thinking about doing this...

      @goodtech1  Před 7 lety

      These are rechargeable Li-ion batteries, so it can work for years. You just need a TP4056 charging module and magnetic battery connector that i made in an earlier video (czcams.com/video/dI0lRjsIEpU/video.html) to charge these batteries.

    • @goodtech1
      @goodtech1  Před 7 lety

      No, this requires high current batteries, however you can use a 9v duracell battery(500mA) but it wont last long, only about 4-5 times.

      No, a copper wire or any other wire will not work with this. You need a nichrome wire.

      Actually i got all the items from old electronic gadgets / appliances. Li-ion cell from my old laptop battery and nichrome wire from electrical heater. So, it didn't cost me much as i didn't buy anything except the yellow tactile push button(50 pcs for just $4).
