  • When Meghan Markle held on to the flowers given to her by a guest when visiting Windsor Castle with her husband, Prince Harry as well as Prince William and Princess Catherine, the internet went crazy. Some claim she bullied the aide, others saw grace and kindness in her actions; but what does her body language indicate? In this video I will breakdown her body language and REVEAL what she ACTUALLY SAID to the aide in order to narrow down what her intentions may have been.

    Hey everyone!
First and foremost I would like to say how impressed and grateful I am at the vibe in the comments. The respectful disagreements, the reevaluations based on new information, it’s such a healthy atmosphere and I really appreciate it. Of course everyone has a different opinion but the way it’s being debated here: I love it!
Second, there are two truths that I often remind myself of. #1) Gandhi was accused of being abusive towards his wife #2) when he was younger, Hitler was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. (Read that again… PEACE!).
The reason I think of this a lot is because if arguably the worst human being who ever walked this planet was deemed worthy of an extremely prestigious award for making the world a better place and if one of the historical figures who spread the most messages about peace was accused of horrible behavior towards his wife then nothing is ever 100%. Pure evil has moments where they’re not being the absolute worst and people with good intentions can behave like absolute monsters.
Nobody is always awful and nobody is always a saint. I remind myself of this before every analysis. I can see a lot of you very much dislike Meghan, as I said in the video, you’re entitled to that and I can certainly see why you have landed there. But even if Meghan was the worst human being alive, I like to remind myself that not every action she takes at every moment of every day is motivated by evil, nobody is always evil.
I think this approach can allow preconceived opinions to move out of the way. It doesn’t mean we have to love Meghan, it simply means we don’t filter our opinion of THIS moment through THOSE lens. We can baseline behaviors and habits but we don’t need to baseline character because as nuanced as behavior is; I think character is about a million times more nuanced.
    Thanks for watching ❤️

@@19590 agreed. The point is some media has used this clip to paint her as a monster. But if someone without her reputation did the exact same thing, I really don’t think it would be a big deal. Not saying she’s a saint or that this is a saintly moment. It’s just not the epitome of evil. ⚖️

Apparently the royal family is briefed very very very very very thoroughly, when there is a huge event like this and emotions are fragile they’re nervous of hidden threats, and apparently it has happened to the queen in earlier times. The security interview explained that this is a long standing protocol and every member of the family is warned, drilled, briefed, and actually in the end a woman in the security stood her ground and instructed harry he had to tell her to hand those flowers over. As a woman with long hair, one thing I can say is that especially when I'm outside, my hair can get in the way, in my face, and I automatically will brush it aside and behind my ear. For me, in those situations, it's not grooming per se. It's for physical comfort that isn't for psychologal comfort. Even the slightest breeze can cause fly away hairs to start to tickle your face when your hair is long. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

When I saw this clip the first time, I also thought she was being rude but then remembered where she was, all the cameras, etc and tried to soften it because she knew it'd look bad, hence the little bend of the knee and "I appreciate it". I don't know her motivation behind not handing over the flowers. Surely someone explained the security reasons why it's done and that should be enough for her.

Out of respect for those people giving their condolences.. don’t u think it’s right she was brief with the aid, so she can resume her interaction with the people giving condolences? But forgot to add- breaking with protocol is persistent behavior for Megan, at least when it comes to fashion. She has broken rules about nail polish color, stockings, and necklines in dresses she has worn. Hearing what she most likely said to the aide, “I told them” makes me think she did go over the plan with aides beforehand. She wanted to keep the flowers and lay them down herself, which confirms the photo op theory too!

Interesting. Rebellion stuck out for me initially because of the speed of the response. The fact that she curtsied to an aide also felt odd for someone who said she didn't know she had to curtsy for the queen yet she did it for an aide. The other part was who "they" are. I actually didn't even think about initially that "they" could be the audience.
I felt like it hinted at a discussion about the protocol before hand with someone that she told "them" ahead of time that she was going to take the flowers. Her speed of response also initially felt like she was annoyed that she has to repeat herself. The curtsy felt more like an "ohh shoot that probably looked bad. I have to change my appearance. " So I'm torn now with just the definition of "they".

Also, her use of the word “them” brings to mind a typical form of US rudeness - their habit of referring to people (even those who are IN THEIR PRESENCE) as “him” or “her” or “them”, rather than referring to them by their name or their role (depending on their situation and audience) - eg very typically in a restaurant with family or friends, they will say to the server “he will have a … and she will have a …” rather than “my friend will have a … and my wife will have a …”
