- Hi guys. My Longest travel vlog yet! And our longest journey as a family.
I hope you enjoy coming along with us.
Here is our Bali 13 night itinerary:
First stop - 4 nights in Kuta -
It's close to the airport, but definitely not the nicest part of Bali. We honeymooned here so stayed at Alaya Dedaun (alayahotels.co...) for 4 nights to reminisce, we relaxed in our villa to recover from our long journey and went to places like Seminyak and Jimbaran Bay for dinner. You could stay here or Seminyak/Jimbaran Bay for a couple of nights then move on. Beaches around here are good for surfing.
Second Stop Ubud - 4 nights
We found an independent villa rental, Casa Pohon (casapohonubud....) and it was magical. We used this as a base as we went exploring every day. They provided a car and driver/tour guide for around £45/$60 for a full day.
Great for: Bali Swing Danau Baratan Jatiluwih Rice Terrace Kemenuh Butterfly park Numerous temples and some great jungle pool bars to end our days - one even overlooked the Tegenungan waterfall.
3rd stop Mara River Safari lodge for 1 night

Such a unique experience. Our main reason to visit was for the giraffe breakfast and it did not disappoint. Spaces are very limited and can only be booked on arrival- so my advice is arrive early on check in day and make it the first thing you book when you arrive.
4th stop - 4 nights Nusa Dua Beach
We stayed at the Melia hotel and it’s pretty special. You can go all inclusive which is probably best if you’re not going to venture out much. The beach is great and the kids activities are good. It could be anywhere in the world I suppose but a nice relaxing end to an eventful trip.

Q: Where is your accent from?
A: I was born and raised to Toronto, Ontario, Canada but moved to Essex in England when I was 14 years old. Hence my mixed up accent.
Q: Do you work? What do you work as?
A: I worked in Marketing and PR but I now focus on my vlog full time.
Q: Who’s in your family?
A: I have been married to Matt for since 2009, he is the love of my life! We have three sons - Fraser (born 2010), Caleb (born 2013) and Jackson (born in 2016).
Q: What camera do you use to film?
A: I film my videos with the Canon G7X and a Canon EOS M50.
Q: What lighting do you use?
A: I use natural lighting 90% of the time and a softbox light during the winter / dark evenings.
Q: Where do you get music from?
A: Epidemic Sound, Soundcloud and the CZcams Library.

I would love quieter music and no vocals in the background. I really appreciate the discussion around the strays and pollution and traffic. Every country has its challenges for sure. Just my two cents. You put a lot of thought into these and it’s appreciated. Are there links to the travel spots?

Went to Bali about 12 years ago (pre kids) and loved it, this is inspiring me to think about going back in a couple of years when my kids are older…. Would love it if you did a Q&A about the trip and perhaps shared a bit more about costs, ie average cost per night for a 2 bed villa etc

It was such an amazing trip!!!! My middle daughter & I went to St. Lucia for her senior trip and the roads and mopeds and crazy driving sounded identical!!! Anytime we went anywhere, we prayed we’d make it alive🤣 I loved the clip of Matt dancing while sitting at a restaurant 😂 and I was so excited to hear the behind-the-scenes experience with the Bali swing and the beautiful red dress!! I was trying to figure out how you fit that in your luggage! Glad to know you could rent it!! I loved every home yall stayed in and all the accommodations .. the mosquito netting on the bed was so pretty and the see-through pool in the living room 😮all the animals at the safari place🥰 I was in love!!! I could go on and on!! Loved the vlog, thanks for bringing us along!! Would love Matt to plan our family’s next vacation 🤩

Seeing the cat by the way made me reminisce back as my son had a cat called Snickers that looked like the one in your vlog, except yours looks masculine for its sterness, lol. The roads are crazy I agree and the beeping was explained that they letting you know they are about to manouvre around you its their way of signalling it's not like at home where if someone beeps you they are getting p***ed off with you 😅.. We off to K L and Penang in october for first time so be interesting to see how different it is to Bali ❤

It’s the same as in Egypt, they have a habit of driving with no lights on at night because they think it’s rude to the oncoming driver! I remember when we arrived late at night on our coach and thinking I’m sure we don’t have any lights on, then our rep explained why it’s a freaky experience 😂.
