Ahhh the now fading "underrated" trope. Code for "I like a thing but don't understand that other people like other things more than I like this thing". Point being, do you really think this was gonna smash the charts and sell millions. All things are "rated" by those who rate them. And we all rate different things. Such diversity of taste is the human animal's greatest asset.
@@Will__Wonks very well said. I knew this style of music would never sell millions, but I always felt his lyrics, musicality, and his perspective of world politics would be more highly regarded. Matt is very intelligent, and it shines through in his music. I think the majority just don't understand.

Ann Arbor, 1984, I was writing a paper on Seize the Day, listening to this album and heard this line; referenced it to illustrate the plight of the main character. Ahh the good ole days. Not sleeping, smoking cigarettes, trying to be existential.
Saw The The at the University of Waterloo in the late 80s. Basically it was our campus bar. What a great show. Love your lyrics Matt.
This is my favorite type of concert recording. Once the song begins, completely Fade Out the audience. That way you focus purely on the music, the vocals, the playing and the sound design

this really is crual and unusual! why cant you just rerelease this as a download on your website ? you clearly have a well preserved copy my vhs copys are well fubarr id be happy to pay £20 for it as long as its been ripped to a hq standard.
