This is a message about how God intends to handle our fear problem. There are four great fears: 1- Fear of survival and poverty, 2- Fear of losing children to sin, 3- Fear of calamity and terror, 4-The lack of political leaders. God never intended for His people to live in fear. God is a God who pleads the cause of His people. He pledges Himself to us and He puts His words in our mouth to destroy the lies of Satan that cause us to fear. This message admonishes us to keep our eyes on His resurrection power and to keep the FACE of JESUS before our eyes all throughout our days.
âAwake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?⊠Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which has drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them outâŠ.
âThus saith thy Lord the Lord, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it againâ (Isaiah 51:9, 17, 22, my italics).
In this powerful prophecy, Isaiah tells us God has put into the hands of all nations a âcup of trembling.â This cup is of the Lordâs doing, and it is filled with the wine of fear, hopelessness and perplexity.
Isaiah was writing to a people who were in captivity in Babylon. He intended his message specifically for those righteous ones who continued to seek the Lord in the midst of that wicked society. It was a word for a holy remnant who had not given in to the materialism and sensuality surrounding them.
Isaiah wrote much about the last days, and I believe with many Bible scholars that his message here applies to the church today. Indeed, it has meaning for all who seek the Lord and love his righteousness in a wicked time. In short, the same cup of trembling that God put into the hands of Babylon, Assyria and the surrounding nations is a cup he has put into the hands of the nations today.
About David Wilkerson
David Wilkerson was the Founding Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City. He was called to New York in 1958 to minister to gang members and drug addicts, as told in the best-selling book, The Cross and the Switchblade.
In 1987, David Wilkerson returned to "the crossroads of the world" to establish Times Square Church. As a pastor of the church, he faithfully led this congregation, delivering powerful biblical messages that encourage righteous living and complete reliance on God.
David Wilkerson had a strong burden to encourage and strengthen pastors throughout the world. From 1999 to 2008, he traveled around the globe holding conferences for Christian ministers.

Years later after this sermon the alcohol and drug problem on our college campuses is even more severe than when Pastor David preached this message. God I pray for the generations to come, we are in trouble as a nation. God we know you are in control, trusting you and standing on your promises.

After years of suffering, it seems through this word and praying along, God has already given me insight to the problem of my heart, spiritually. Thank you Rev. Wilkerson, even though you are gone, your teachings are still needed, even more so in today's churches!! Praise God!

Nel H- Agree! IBLV2DOU, He was truly a great and greatly missed man of God. His sermons have carried me through lately. I love my church, but it doesn't have the fire that Pastor Wilkerson had. No matter how down or worried I am, his sermons pick me right back up. It would have been great to attend one of his sermons. Unfortunately, I didn't discover him until after he died (and I'm no where near New York). But even after his death, he is still shepherding God's people.

Turn to the Holy Spirit. David Wilkerson would not want you to be his follower, but is trying to get others to follow the one that truly leads, Who is The Lord. He is more REAL than this servant, but as for another pastor to look towards, I do not know at this time.
I found a really good pastor teacher you might like, named Charles Lawson, from Tennessee. He is up on all the current stuff, and he's not afraid to tell what's going on. He is a hell fire fellow, so if that's what you want check him out. Im so thankful for good preachers on you tube. We are blessed to be able to hear the word from anywhere now. :-)

Aposte Peter is also a servant of the Lord but we respect and honor how Jesus used them and we read and heed their encouraging letters of wisdom and exhortation and sound doctrine. **Titus 2:1 You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.
