So this is the procedeur ? 1: Desolder the chip from the back of the board. Extracting Bios from another computer. 2: Connect chip to your programmer etc CH421a. 3: Extract the locked bios file from the chip with software and save it with a name for example (Bios_locked.bin). 4: Open your saved file bios_locked.bin with Hex workshop and edit it (Remove lock) Here's where its getting confusing How exactly do you do that? 5: Save your edited file in Hex workshop to a new file with name Bios_unlocked.bin) Program Bios 6: Load your saved unlocked bios file with same program you used when you extracted. 7: Erase your chip with extracting program 8: Reprogram your chip with unlocked bios file. 9: Solder chip to motherboard and start computer 10: Follow startup proceeder Rebooting 3 times DONE.
This is not the simplest way.... At All. You did not mention that you need to remove the chip from the motherbaord and extract the files. You all should sue HP for preventing access to your own computer. There will be a class action lawsuit against HP for this kind of design. This is like buying a house from a builder and the builder refused to give you a the key to your own house. Lawsuit is coming to HP.
HP put the security just in case your laptop is stolen and also to save your data. But wait if you said the laptop belongs to you then you should know the password and if you forget the password this is the solution... That's if you don't wanna go through HP. Thanks
@@redaader679 i've had issues desoldering the chip from the motherboard. ordered some capton tape but then life got in the way. I haven't tried to take the chip off yet.

What programmer did you use? my EZP2023 doesn't detect the chip correctly. It isn't on the list either.

I have the same model with password I used your process and I unlocked the password but it gave end point security message any suggestion
If you use the original file from your laptop using my video procedure it won't give you endpoint security message
