  • Building a Victorian Era Bliss DollHouse Kit // The Secret History of Dollhouses
Join me as we take a look at the secret history of dollhouses (also styled dolls’ houses or doll’s house) as we build a late Victorian Era Bliss dollhouse from a kit by Nordquist Designs. The interior of the house will feature paper wallpaper and furniture from Mcloughlin Brothers from the late 19th Century.

Does anyone else have dreams of building and furnishing a Victorian dollhouse? Let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear them!

I have a large Victorian built (minus putting in windows) waiting for decorating. And I think I've now changed my mind and want to do a "modern" dollhouse inside it - like a family moved into an old Victorian in the time of today. I love Victorian dollhouses, and had every intent of decorating this one this way, but I think the modern take will give me a lot more freedom and less stress about historical accuracy.

@@Mrs_Homemaker I love this idea. It will be fun to decide what you want to remain historically accurate and what elements you want to update. It will be a nice snapshot into our lives today while navigating what was here before us. Thank you for your comment!

Years ago I made a rough replica of our house to be used as a bird feeder, that was till the little girl next door saw it. Just by the look in her eyes there was no way I couldn't give it to her.

I love this! I've seen house birdfeeders and they are adorable. There is something about miniature houses that elicits joy. Thanks for sharing!
