- Jay was not prepared for the magical world he would find in Pat Lohenry’s basement. Pat has been making dollhouses all her life. And not just the houses! She makes just about every single item in every house, by hand. And today her basement is full of her creations: 20 dollhouses and 170 room boxes, each one depicting a different scene and era.
She is just amazing 👏! I hope her children do something with all her work, artistry really, when she's gone. Remarkable woman!!
This is mind-blowing. So inspiring! I hope these will be preserved and enjoyed by people for many many years to come. They are real works of art!
I totally understand her passion. My kids think I'm a hoarder. It's a passion and borderline obsession. Simply put....LOVE
Best part......they don't talk back and are always polite.
Doll's houses keeps your mind agile and problem solving; your hands busy making and creating; and your wallet half-empty!
But it is so much FUN and you never stop researching and learning.
Thank you for never growing up, you're some one who understands the lovers of a small world.
She is so passionate and so talented. This should definitely be in a museum. I am willing to pay 50 dollars as ticket charges just to watch this and it should be able to cover rent and other expenses if many people come and visit the Pat Lohenry's Doll House Museum. This is a global treasure imo and should be preserved by all dollhouse lovers and miniature lovers.
They should go to a dollhouse museum so they will be forever shared and never forgotten when she's gone one day.
My granddad built me a doll house when I was about 6. I loved it and played with it all the time! It meant a lot to me but when I got married my mom threw it away! I cried!
I can only jumbly relate to your most inspiring way of keeping making what you love. At the age of almost 93, I too keep creating and believe this is what keeps me young at heart and on my feet.
In Kansas we have a miniatures museum. I think her work would be lovely to see there :)
Lovely to see a kindred spirit. ❤ In my 30s and still haven't felt the desire to get rid of my dolls (and most of my other toys... definitely regretting some of the 90s classics my parents donated over the years that are worth so much now!). It's lovely to think I could be this lady in 50 years ❤

These are gorgeous! I'm a "no people" one, whereas my friend has people and makes them. I make some furniture, textiles and food.

You are amazing, I just started making dollhouses and all furniture last year, I'm retired, and I'm having an amazing time with it, rent a space and charge fee, I would pay any fee to see this, just amazing.

I absolutely LOVE dollhouses. My Dad never got around to making one for me. I have one now that I got at a second hand store but it was poorly built so I had to take it apart. I have been trying to clean it up a bit and then I will try to put it back together and hopefully when I am gone somebody else will love it. I hope I can save it's life.

Fantastic!! I use to be into miniatures and still have some treasures but not able to do much anymore. Most people don't put dolls in because they don't really look right. However your's are beautiful and perfect in all rooms. Thank you for sharing. ❤

Yep. Making dollhouses and all the furnishings is a lot of fun. You just get caught up in the making and everything else goes away. And don't you just love people who tell you to stop your hobby that makes you happy and get rid of all your stuff?
