"pretend the pedal is a baby's head". Well, that escalated quickly.
axzze does tend to work though
Oh, I believe you. I just found it slightly amusing.
axzze I know what you mean 😊
The emergency stop might produce some interesting results! haha.
😂😂 it’s helpful
"no baby was harmed in the making of this video"
True that 😁
Thanks for these amazing videos!
+Gift Jaco Thank you for watching, I enjoy making them, are you just learning how to drive or preparing for a test?
I am currently going through my driving lessons. And watching this has really helped, got a driving lesson soon so will be following your technique x
Good to hear, best wishes of luck with the driving
Found your videos for my third test and managed to pass!! Thanks for your help!
Delighted to hear that, congratulations 🙂👍
Your videos help me a lot, thank you! :)
+mlufka trufka my pleasure
Sir you have good skills and talent to teach new learners/drivers . Your demonstration is completely comprehensive. learner may learn very quickly from your videos, plz keep it up, thanks
I'll certainly try, thank you 🙂
Imagine it's a baby's head. Lol, can't help but laugh, but so true.
+plagueofshadow as a teaching tool it always works 😀
Great Video 💯
+Sagemode13579 thanks
I think this is a very solid way of explaining examples... And instructing, thank you so much.
I felt bad yesterday after an practice drive with my instructor. I had learnt to properly drive through the instructors I've worked with (only about 10 hours- spaced out between months), and still hadn't passed my road test the first time in due to entering improperly(crooked) from the parallel parking area of cones/I fixed this but nonetheless got scared with preventing to hit the cones that I couldn't parallel park, my steering was "poor" because I felt subconsciously unsure of what to do. I suppose memorizing the steps wasn't set in my mind because it blanketed my mind, and I switched gears while the vehicle was moving 🤦🏻♀️ which I had never did while when with my instructors, but did on the day of the road test. Credits to her for noticing. Nonetheless, was set to reschedule my appt, and I took a time to be able to do this... Had to renew my permit application in advance before it expired, successfully did this, got my road test date, and my driving became rusty.* I was abruptly braking because my heel should've been off. And these tips of "the pedals are pressing on a baby's head" & *on/off technique would definitely really help me* 😅😂 Typically when I would 'press gently' the brake pedal, it's with my whole foot, and I even notice how my technique's wrong. And I tend to fear letting go. Which makes it dangerous if I continue to; having to stop doing this means trying the on/off method. So, bit lengthy comment but thank you nonetheless. It helps to be aware of subconsciously rewiring what we're learning lol- it's 90% of our daily behaviors.
Thank you and best wishes with the driving 😊
hi Dane.. videos great help..just had my fiirst driving test yesterday morning, flicked through your videos before hand just for a recap and happy to say i passed!! :)
Paul F That's great news, congratulations on passing the test. Glad you found the videos helpful ☺️
Sick kicks!
The beautiful game!
I'm absolutely delighted to have found your videos. Your FACT steps have just about saved my sanity. Do you have a video for purely stopping the car as well please? I don't think I can find one. I'm so impressed with your teaching method and glad I no longer have to search CZcams for easy-to-understand tutorials. Many, many, thanks.

The above video is how to brake smoothly, I don't think I have one specifically on stopping but that would be a good idea for the future. Generally when stopping it's brake first and then put the clutch in about 2 or 2 seconds before the car stops. But be careful not to coast too much, this video explains why... czcams.com/video/Y-jciPi0nTM/video.html
@@DaneTygheletsdrive Thank you very much. I have only just noticed your reply. It's much appreciated.
Best wishes
Casually watching your videos after passing 3 days ago 😉 lol
Good to hear, congratulations 😊
This we're I have problems especially at junctions with braking and clutching I only started lessons hopefully I get better when I do it wrong my confidence kinda drops when I make the mistake and doesn't help when my driving instructor kinda gives out
You'll get there, one step at a time. If you're instructor is getting upset it's more of a reflection on his inability and weaknesses than yours. Anger is a sign of weakness.
cool i like it
+innocent nshimi thank you
Nice video, i have my practical test today.
+Ace best wishes with the driving test
Thanks, I passed with only 3 minors.
Signals - correctly; Progress - undue hesitation; Position /normal stops;
1 minor for each one.
Thanks for your videos.
+Ace That's brilliant news, congratulations 😀
+Dane Tyghe Thanks. :)
Lol,, the baby's head tip really does work,, even if it is an unusual image
Sometimes you have to think outside of the box
Every time I break the car shakes like it’s about to stall. Very frustrating. It seems much easier to clutch first but I know that’s wrong.
Just put the clutch in sooner or drop to first gear.
thank you for the vids dane! will you be doing any automatic videos?
+Anna Rebeckah Thank you Anna, unfortunately I wouldn't be able to do any automatic videos as I have only a manual car but the observation and mirror checks as well as lots of other aspects of driving are the same regardless of whether you are driving a manual or automatic.
So it’s smooth then firmly then when Car is at walking pace slowly take the foot off the brake?
Just gently on and off the brake, not firmly
But what about when people at steady behind you speeding
Try focus on your own driving
Thank you so much for doing my video request! I thought I was subscribed to you and wondered why you had gone quiet. Obviously I wasn't! Where are you based? Wish I could hire you. :)I don't think I'll ever pass my test given that i have been told, "you can drive", but that I'm, "not test ready". How can you be able to drive, but not considered "test ready?"
+lynncrf Hello 😀 I am based in Wexford town, i know what you mean, a driver can be a capable and functional driver but perhaps not quite confident and skillful enough to be at test standard. But practice makes perfect.
Where are you based?
Oh far away then. :) I am in Kildare. My issue is how do you gain confidence when you are constantly criticised by the instructor? My instructor was nice to me until I had a test date, but now that I have one he spent the whole last lesson detailing every tiny fault. He also didn't understand me when I told him that anxiety *massively* impacts my driving.
For example, my BIL told me that I drive perfectly through town, but that as soon as he takes me to a stressful place I make one small mistake and then panic and proceed to make mistake after mistake. Then it all goes to hell in a handbasket. I am going to do your smooth braking technique when my brother next lends me his car. The lack of smooth braking and smooth going *down* the gears is what I failed on.
My BIL said his gear changes down are smooth because he block changes. I just can't go down the gears smoothly in such a short period of time as they want you to do in the test. In real life, you have like a minute's notice before being told to make a turn, but in the test they don't give you enough time, and I can't do it smoothly. I wonder would block changing help me as it means you only need to change gear once.
+lynncrf Well the braking video I made after your asked me to do one was on braking smoothly when you stop. But if you want are talking about going down the gears the key thing is to brake early and gradually as you go down through the gears. Also you must come off the clutch slowly, if you are too quick lifting the clutch then the car will be too jumpy.
In this video I will show you how to brake smoothly, it's tip one of five.

lynncrf this video will help explain how to change down through the gears smoothly (esp from 5.33)

Yeah, I'm not going to imagine my foot on a baby's head. Thanks, though lol
Go with the eggshells then 😊
I'm almost 16 😢
Congratulations
16 is the minimum age to have driving license in your country? Mine is 18.
17 in Ireland
What if I don't like babies?
In that case change it to something else that you might like, such as an egg shell or perhaps a strawberry
Maybe pretend you're stepping on Lego barefooted would've been more suitable. We don't want child services at our doorstep now.
God forbid
