    I like the concept. Works for all stands and tables, saves money on casters, no complicated mechanisms, easy to use and rugged. Very nice!

    Hi Justin,
    Love your work mate 👏👏.
    You’ve given us a great solution here. I have a very small workshop, so everything that can be made mobile, is mobile.
    Your idea simplifies the problem of stabilising a mobile cart for use. I have previously put castors on all four legs, then had to fab some stabilisers that slot into the various trolleys. painfully slow to set up 🥺. Your solution is much much better.
    Regards
    Robert

      Agreed, I like everything mobile but then I also hate the 4 casters because everything ALWAYS feels mobile haha.

      @@JustVoss - good tip 👍👍. I can imagine that disappointment once you moved the table for the first time and went “huh, where do I put the handle now 😂”. The one stand I need this for first is a 3-legged 2x72” belt sander. The back two have wheels and I imagined I could just lift up the stationary foot and roll it. Except it turns out to be a little heavier than this old man can move. 😂

    I made my welding table light with wheels, I do have a heavy duty bigger table for heavy pounding work. If I'm just welding the table don't have to be heavy. I'm glass I did make it light because I can move my table out in the sun if I want to work out side on nice days.

    Great idea and execution. The only thing I think I'd change is to swap the ring and pin so the ring is on the table, and the pin is on the dolly. It seems like it would be easier to grab on to the table that way

    It is interesting and fun to build your own tools. I build all my benches with the crossbars on the bottom low enough so I can pick the tables up with my pallet jack. Just another way to do it.😎

    • @scroungasworkshop4663
      @scroungasworkshop4663 Před 3 lety

      Hey Dan, I make custom pallets for my heavy stuff like my lathe, surface grinder and turret mill and like you use a pallet jack to shift them around. The extra height of the pallets is a bonus for me as I’m 6’ 6” and I only have to lift them less than an inch so I can move them around on my own with complete safety. I also use a trolley or cart that has a manual hydraulic lift and an old hospital patient lifter to move other things around as well. I have a video about them on my channel. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺

    • @JustVoss

      Honestly that was my original plan but I didn’t want to spend too much time on it and the wide capture ring makes it really stable when using it. The third wheel would be nice to be able to just let go of it and have it rest in place.

    Why do you use it? Esthetic reasons?

    • @JustVoss
      @JustVoss  Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah mostly looks and it lays down nice. It works really well for joining dissimilar metals like mild to molly or if you’re not quite sure what the two steels are. Obviously if you’re welding something for a job and it calls for a type of filler I wouldn’t use it. But home projects, shop equipment, art.. all day.

    Love your videos mate. Something I've been meaning to ask for a while is you seem to weld REALLY slowly. Like you dab at about half the speed most other people do. Is that deliberate? Do you use less amps on purpose? Is this the way they do it in nascar? Has anyone else ever told you that?
