I agree. I’m a big Bruce Kulick fan. He’s one of my personal favorite guitar players. But the best era of Kiss was the Vinnie Vincent era. He and Eric Carr turned Kiss into a Heavy Metal band.
You couldn't possibly love classic KISS more than I do! I've been there since they first hit the big time! Having said that! They really tarnished their legacy after claiming they were calling it quits only to turn right around and turn KISS into a tribute band and make a complete mockery out of ACE & PETER and the band itself! Not only that but it WAS and still IS all of these years later an absolute insult and slap in the face to all of us true fans who were there and supported them in the 70's. After all it is US who gave them their success when it counted and really mattered. WE were the ones who made them the mega stars they would become. After ACE & PETER left after the farewell tour it's been nothing but hate and insults between the original four. CZcams has been the big spotlight on that! GENE & PAUL'S behavior and decisions have made it VERY clear to the fans that money itself is way more important to them than protecting the legacy they created. I've lost complete respect for the both of them! I will still listen to the classic stuff because it's the one thing that can make this 52 yr old man feel like a kid all over again! Experiencing KISS mania in the 1970's was the greatest joy a kid could ever possibly experience! Ya just had to been there!
True story ! Been a fan since 1977. The original line up will always be the best. They could have ended it in 2000 and protected their legacy. Sad and embarrassing to see what they've become. I miss the days when we didn't know what they looked like and all of their dirty laundry.

Well, I've defiantly haven't seen this much hate on any bands at all.. Now I've gone to the latest farewell tour, which was amazing. But then again I wasn't around in the 70s to see them. I love the original lineup, but you have to think that Eric and Tommy were asked by Paul and Gene themselves to take place as Ace and Peter. But so many people hate on Eric and Tommy for that, and to be honest it isn't their fault. Gene is my favorite member of KISS, I know he has done a lot of wrong things in his life, but you have to forgive people and move on from the past. Gene now is married, I heard from a recent interview that he text Paul and Gene lately and was seeing how they were doing. He also texted Eric, which Ace says they get along great. Also, a lot of people bash Paul and Gene out because they're "jewish." They say "what do you expect they're jewish." First of all, I am a christian and a firm believer that the jews are gods chosen people. It really makes me boil inside, just because they're jewish doesn't mean CRAP. I love Paul and Gene, and you have to remember as well that everything Ace, Peter, Gene, or Paul says isn't true. Anyways, I love kiss, I wish I could've been there to see them in their prime. Edit: I'm sorry I said "Gene is now married" and moved on to say he texted himself and Paul. I meant Ace texted Gene and Paul.

It was a farewell tour with the original members. I've seen kiss 10 * with original members and without and the original members is the real kiss. If Ace Frehley and Peter Criss was doing the end of the road tour with Gene and Paul I would definitely go. I don't want to go see half of a kiss.

They wanted Ace to stay. The contracts for the Aerosmith co-headline tour stipulated three original members. Ace said no and they invited Peter back. Don't believe the crap about Ace being fired because of sloppy playing and Paul stating he held them back from opening up the setlist for more songs. I saw the last tour with Ace in the band in Australia. He played and sang great at both concerts. Over the two nights in Sydney, the setlist included tracks from: 1. the non-makeup era with I Love it Loud, Heaven's on Fire, Psycho Circus, I Still Love You and Lick it Up 2. Ace tracks Talk to Me and Shock me. 3. Tracks Kiss don't play much and newer stuff, including Shandi, Makin' Love, Hard Luck Woman, and Psycho Circus. Ace played and sang great. The setlists from these nights in 2001 are pretty much the same as now, with the only evolution in the last 20 years being that addition of Tears are Falling and a song off one of the two newer albums. So they want us to believe Ace couldn't learn two more songs over a 20 year period?? Just like the first time they supposedly fired Ace after The Elder. Paul came around to his house, spent the day with him and begged him to stay (it's even in Paul's book).
The Beach Guy not up to par, Ace plays pretty good most of the time but his sight & hearing are damaged, he has off nights, Peter can still play but he can’t handle a tour or play for a long period of time.
Or at least one final show at cobo hall or Madison square garden or a pay per view at the loft where they originally practiced at..just a handful of songs.
Wow. This is the first time I’ve seen footage of a concert I actually attended! Me and my buddy were deafened even way back on the floor and we were both sick for about a week after the show. Great concert though!

I had been trying to call in to win tickets from the classic rock radio station all that week. I was broke so I figured that was it but then at the last minute 96Wave - the college music radio station announced A costume contest the night before the show. I had a killer Gene Simmons costume that I had already made so I knew INSTANTLY that I had won front row tickets. I was so stoked but then I had to find a buddy who could wake up at five in the morning to come over and help me get ready and drive me to the radio station wearing all the gear. My costume was so good that they called the local news channels and so I showed up on the news that night! Anyway at the show it was me and my buddy and a couple of ladies that got to be in the front row for other reasons. Actually they both had a couple of really BIG reasons they were in the front row! With backstage passes to boot. It was insane - I’m 6 feet away from Gene, and each girl was a fan of Gene or Paul. Whenever G or P approached us, each girl would show her “appreciation” to the band member. It was sensory overload for me and my lucky pal!!!

I think Eric does a great job on the drums, but singing a classic like Black Diamond doesn't do the band justice. Tommy can play Ace's leads note for note, but he can't sing either. They sound old, and tired, and the fact that they are using backing tapes now should let you know there just about done.
I barely made it to "The Last Kiss" concert in PHX,AZ, They were already into Encore. ALL the KISS may be behind me when I say they should take a short break,before they decide to really call it quits,then do at-least one or two more world tours(or stay in the USA, broadcast over the world). I believe they can get over whatever broke them up and tour with original members again;maybe get many of those that came in when Peter left(Eric Carr/The Wolf),Bruce Kulick and not sure it would be good to have Singer and Thayer unless they do different make-up and costumes so Peter and Ace can do their own make-up and costumes. Do it with their '77 Alive II costumes etc.

My first concert was in 1976 when I was 7 years old. My last 2 concerts were at the Farewell Tour, at old Tiger Stadium and when they did an encore concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan. Haven't been to one since, not even when they were just here on March 13th, at Little Cesar's Arena, why you ask because now, they are just a tribute band in my opinion. KISS was KISS, when it was Ace, Paul Peter and Gene, not.with these to wannabe losers Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer.
There is a rumor because of the auction casino out here in Arizona that Gene Simmons concert was not real so I want to just let you know when they performed your life for Kiss

Peter Criss, not Peter Chriss...Eric Singer actually already had a successful run with Kiss (with no makeup) while they were still a relevant band and not a nostalgia act, before becoming a fake Peter Criss, shame he had to compromise that. I have a feeling Eric is silently not that keen on it. Tommy Thayer, while a fine musician and probably a decent guy, came onboard much later, after their run as a relevant band, and I get the feeling it doesn't bother him much being a fake Ace Frehley. I think once they took the makeup off, they should have never put it back on; the minute they made the decision to do that, they became just a nostalgia band. Backtracking 25 or 30 years with imposters may still sell out shows, but it is just people trying to reminisce about their youth and maybe show their children what they liked when they were young, or some younger people trying to get a feel for what it was like "back in the day" . No Thanks...

Peter Criss, not Peter Chriss...Eric Singer actually already had a successful run with Kiss (with no makeup) while they were still a relevant band and not a nostalgia act, before becoming a fake Peter Criss, shame he had to compromise that. I have a feeling Eric is silently not that keen on it. Tommy Thayer, while a fine musician and probably a decent guy, came onboard much later, after their run as a relevant band, and I get the feeling it doesn't bother him much being a fake Ace Frehley. I think once they took the makeup off, they should have never put it back on; the minute they made the decision to do that, they became just a nostalgia band. Backtracking 25 or 30 years with imposters may still sell out shows, but it is just people trying to reminisce about their youth and maybe show their children what they liked when they were young, or some younger people trying to get a feel for what it was like "back in the day" . No Thanks...

ace and peter were cry babies that didnt want to do it. Good on gene and paul for having the balls to suffer through those two and go on without them. Yeah the original is the best but have a watch of interviews from the reunion era and see ace and peter continuously cry and complain. gene and paul just work hard thats why they succeed.
To bad Ace and Peter screwed that up what should of been a celebration with the original 4 turned into a disaster
