    I love this kit! I could never afford a decent Roland kit but very impressed by Yamaha’s sound. I can get the sounds I need just like on an acoustic kit and the touch is very responsive. Not to mention way more affordable than Roland.

    I finally played it tonight after 2 years of waiting! I was playing it through PA system that had a little bit too much Reverb I didn't have time to make adjustments but the toms sounded a lot better out the box then the td-17 and I definitely like playing the Yamaha snare better but it did not trigger as well as the Roland. The snare may need some adjusting no because it didn't trigger anywhere as well as the td-17 but it may have had a lot to do with the speaker it was coming out of. I must say that it was fun to a degree and I like the 26-inch kit a lot but the module definitely needs some refinement and I'd probably go with the 17.

    I am really torn between buying this module or the td-27. With Roland releasing the digital hihats yesterday making the choice is so difficult. The Yamaha sounds and features like being able to import multi layered vst samples and the 3 knob quick adjustment knobs from the ead-10 module are fantastic, no individual outs unfortunately, the Td-27 with full digital pad set is so amazing as well. Played the DTX pro a Guitar Center last week and I was loving the sounds. I also enjoy the texture silicone pads, they are on equal footing with mesh pads IMO. So the answer is yes you can hook it up to a Yamaha keyboard many companies to keep open the midi outs now use USB ports for info sharing both of them have usb and midi the problem is that DTX pro would have to be the master the pro x you could use as slave since it has midi in

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  Před 2 lety

      Hey Dennis, you can use side trigger systems like Roland PDX-8/12, drum-tec Jam NG and also ATV EXS or aDrums pads work well. All pads using a combined mid/side trigger system like f.e. a Roland PDX-100 will be too "hot" & cannot be turned down on the input enough to get a good dynamic range sadly. Kind regards!

    Toms, snare and kicks have never been Yamaha's problem the cymbal sounds however. So generic and artificial sounding. I'm not much more impressed with this than the sounds that come with a standard DTX module.
