For every 100,000 subscriber count I try to do a video showing one of my collections! It’s been a while but in this video I will show you my bandsaw collection and also show you my latest bandsaw restoration, at the end of the video I run it on a "hit & miss" engine from 100 years ago!
A big thank you to Rob Rojas who help me restore this bandsaw

WOW, Great collection. I have a 12" Craftsman bandsaw, I attempted to replace the rubber bands, I bought the bands from Sears and they don't fit right so the band saw is sitting in the back of my little my shop. I kept the old bands , so I'm going to put them back on and just give it a good cleaning and hopefully get it working again. I bought it cheap from an old friend of mine, He cut his finger off and the doctor told him it was time for him to give it up. He has since past away, so His wife called me up and gave me his small drill press too.

I remember reading an article in a Fine Woodworking magazine, 30 or 40 years ago, about an old stair maker. He said the best woodworking machines ever were built in the '20s. He said they were made to the tightest tolerances.

Just did a make-over of my Dad’s Craftsman 12” Band saw/sander. Wish I had a larger shop, I would keep it, as I like it better than the old 14” Delta I have. But a new Laguna with more throat is now my go to bandsaw for cutting up turning blanks, so it will soon be finding a new home. Hope it gets appreciated as much as you appreciate your restored machines.

I remember having a Do-All bandsaw in shop class in the early 70's because the idiots in class were constantly breaking blades and it had it's own blade welding system on it. Also you are the epitome of the old saying...."You can never have too many clamps"

Me too. Had a friend that loved Spiderman, we made a belt in my dad's shop. Pine blocks with chamfered edges, painted silver and stapled to a webbing belt. Looked great. I was only friends with him in Kindergarten, so we were 5 years old. Used the table saw, maybe the band saw, and the belt sander. How I still have both my eyes and all the fingers is surprising!

LOL.... I was 8. Just came home from a family trip to Maine and cut off a stick of wood in my dad's shop on his 14" Delta. I reached around the blade to get the off-cut and sliced a 1.5" gash on the side of my wrist. That was +50 years ago and I still have the scar from the 14 stitches my doctor sewed up. Good times!

Cool, I didn't realize how many band saws I had until I started making a wood cutting one lately. One is the left handed made from scratch. Two is the HF 54-1/2" bladed saw. 3 is the hand held corded saw, Four is the cordless hand held and 5 is the wooden framed Wandel design saw. The wood saw was inspired by Diresta using his saws to shape and carve and my Son in laws need for a wood cutter saw. Enjoyed the tour, cheers and nice to see Lyall's hit and miss fired up!
