    You sir and your excellent videos are a real godsend to so many people, including myself.
    I go in for full extractions in a couple weeks, then upper and lower dentures after that.
    I am scared SHITLESS.
    I watch your soothing and reassuring videos every day now and even have them playing on a loop as i fall asleep each night. I trust your advice. Again thank you sir for your videos as they are all many of us have to get us through this scary experience.
    Wish me luck in July!

    This was the MOST informative video I've seen on dentures. Not for a Dentist, but from a person who had gone through having teeth pulled and the process of healing. Thank you so much. Great Job on the very informative video.

    Just had 31 surgically removed and they refused to put me in dentures right after surgery! Refused, and let me tell ya I'm damn sure glad they did. Cause holy shit I am so swollen and the pain is incredible. I've gone without this long...I can wait a little longer!!! I want my dentures to fit as long as possible before I have to start thinking about buying another set.

      Thanks for the video it was very informative. I do have a question however. I was watching a extraction video that scared the stuffing outta me then stopped watching them and thought I’d just ask and get correct information. Do they cut in between your teeth on your gums when they do the extraction? What I’m asking is do they lay your gums open? Please tell me they just pull your teeth!?! I saw that on a video and it made it almost faint! What was your experience? Thanks so much and best of luck to you and I hope you heal quick!! ❤️

    I had twenty three teeth pulled Dec 2, and had to deal with it with just Tylenol and ibuprofen because I'm allergic to narcotics. It was quite unpleasant. I opted for regular dentures, not immediates, so I have to go toothless for some time. It's been a month now and it's healing well and there's only a little swelling. Looking forward to smiling again.

    I'm so thankful that you posted this video. I've been so depressed finding out that I have to have all of my bottom teeth removed and needing full dentures. I've always loved my smile. My top teeth are not as bad as bottom which I'm thankful for but I'm still sad. My teeth weren't detiorating before I had a gastric bypass or after, until 2019 is when I noticed an issue. Had 2 abcessess, December 2020 and last month. Unfortunately, I have to wait 2 months for my dentures after its extracted because they told me my insurance has to put the approval for full bottom dentures. I'm scared of the extraction, I have PTSD, anxiety and ADHD. I have no one to go with me to the dentist either to comfort me. I also don't want to see or feel the extraction because of my PTSD/anxiety. But thank you again because getting a perspective of preparation for teeth extraction and dentures, gives me more realistic information I needed.

    My dentist did not offer anything other than numbing. I got NINE shots on the top and six on the bottom. I had a few moments of anxiety because I was so numb I couldn't swallow. But the dental assistant stayed with me after I said something and I felt better with her there. I got 26 teeth pulled. One thing I recommend for anyone getting a full mouth extraction: Call your dentist the day before the extraction if you can, and ask her/him to fill your pain and antibiotic prescriptions that day so you can at least take the pain meds with you to the dentist's office. I did this. When I went to my extraction appointment I asked the dentist when I should take my first pain pill (800 mg. ibuprofen). He said, "Take it now before I start pulling". The point is to get ahead of any pain. You don't want pain to set in because it's that much harder for it to go away if you don't already have medication in your system. You'll be uncomfortable for 3-5 days, partially because your gums and face will be swollen. Sleep with your head elevated the first couple of nights and take your pain medication religiously along with your antibiotics. It took almost two weeks for all of my swelling to go down, but it DID go down. I hope to eventually post some videos of my journey. Right now I'm 1.2 months post-procedure and am wearing my immediate dentures after a soft reline (the dentures were so painful I couldn't wear them two days after getting my teeth pulled- there was a lot of swelling and tenderness--ugh!!!) But the good news is you WILL get over it. Right now I'm wearing my immediate dentures and can't wait until January, when my dentist says he'll do impressions for my permanent set of dentures. Good luck everyone and Justin, thank you for your videos!!!

      I went to my local affordable dentures and implants location and they quoted me $5,000 for the extraction and basic dentures. I was a little bit perplexed since many people have stated figures around $2,000. Do you have any thoughts on this?

    • @JustinBsDentureJourney
      @JustinBsDentureJourney  Před 2 lety +2

      @@Jeff_Seely I think it depends on a lot of things. How many teeth, how hard to extract, whether your sedated or not, level of dentures and of course where you are located. I’m in Midwest so it might be cheaper here depending on where your located. Plus the $1400 was after insurance, would of been 3k without.

    • @Jeff_Seely
      @Jeff_Seely Před 2 lety

      @@JustinBsDentureJourney Dustin, yeah I do have some very decent group insurance and they were quoting over 11k without it so it is probably location. They agreed to match and beat competing treatment plans by 5% which made me think, "What's to keep me from going to another county (one that doesn't have an upper-middle-income clientele)"? BTW, it does help me to do uppers and lowers in separate annual terms but that is a discussion That I plan for next week...

    I had bad teeth and horrible memories from the dentist since I was 11 years old. One time my dentist was pulling a tooth and I told him to stop because it hurt. He didn't listen and kept pulling. I reached up and grabbed his arm. He couldn't get me numb and tried to make me feel bad saying in 25 years I was only the second person he couldn't get numb. I had to be put to sleep for a simple tooth extraction. And then if I needed fillings he would drill on my teeth for an hour straight. Once I got a root canal and had a wisdom tooth cut out of my gums with stitches. I finally had enough and stop going. I went to a different dentist thinking I could go the IV sedation route and he told me all of my teeth need to come out. So I just met with the oral surgeon $4700 to pull my teeth under general anesthesia, $2400 for dentures and $5100 for dental implants for snap ins. It's alot of money but I'm grateful I can pay for it and I know I'll feel so much better. I hate my teeth

    🎉I have Systemic Lupus. It’s caused numerous health issues like RA, thyroid disease, Shogrens Syndrome. I take Evoxac to lubricate my mouth. Problem was a cracked tooth. My dentist wouldn’t extract fearing bone death from Reclast Infusions for my Osteoporosis. I developed 4 abscesses then Osteomyolytis (bone infection). Cost me all my teeth, top and bottom, hospital stay, and drainage tube. Infection poured out holes from former molars, and an opening under my chin where puss poured out. This took 7 months to heal. I’ve had spurs needing Aveoloplasty 2x. Now, huge bone fragments coming out tooth holes from molars. Left side of my face is paralyzed. You can touch and see my jaw bone and nerves through molar holes. Nine months later, I still can’t have dentures. Process for implants may start this December. Talking is awful, painful, and difficult. My appearance is tragic. I can’t look in a mirror and now wear designer masks to go in public. All this because of a cracked tooth. Bones keep growing out my gums similar to the tops of molar teeth. They hurt just like a baby cutting it’s first teeth. After awhile, I can dig into my gums with my finger nails and pull the bone growths out of the gums. I’ve cut at least 6 of these teeth tops connected to nothing.
    Nice thing about my life and diet are that I can eat anything I want. However, I have to use my fingers with almost everything. It’s humiliating and won’t eat in public. I tear all food into tiny fragments or smash corn kernels and other foods to allow swallowing. Having no saliva and tears, glands leave my mouth so dry, it’s like being in the Sahara Desert several days without water. Pharmacy’s are having trouble getting my meds for it. I worry that having regular dentures requiring adhesives is going to be a nightmare if I can’t have implants. I’ll need 6 bone graphs to fill in the bone loss on left bottom. Dentist has to open entire top and bottom gums to drill off all the spurs sticking out of my gums that feel like metal pointed tooth picks peering through my gums, about 15. They hurt like heck and cut my tongue when they scrape across it while talking. The left jaw could break at any second due to bone loss from the infection.
    I’m not worried about any of what’s happened and happening. I’m worried about adhesives. I’m praying I’m still an implant candidate. I don’t know yet if it’s a go. I may get to have something pertaining to teeth next year, 2023, but have to wait and see what I’ll be allowed to have in my mouth. BTW, I had nothing except a numb mouth while top and bottom teeth were extracted. It took almost 3 hours to remove them all but it was virtually pain free. Dentist had to use gold instruments to extract. Many teeth wouldn’t come out unless he drilled into them, put on a clamp, and used every ounce of his strength. His hands and body were shaking and painful before he finished but it was no big deal to me. The only thing I felt was the suturing both top and bottom. I just don’t want adhesives or having to eat with my fingers much longer. Oh, or having to wear masks because of the shame over my appearance.
    Imagine all this due to a cracked tooth. Never thought the top ones would have to go too but there was so much infection which has left me with a plastic container full of bone fragments and spurs I have to carry with me to my new dentist’s. That’s right! Dentist’s! Surgeon’s! Internist! You name it! I’m having to see them. Go figure! People say I should sue to get lots of money. Why? All I want is teeth without glue and to be able to smile in public again. Have a wonderful smiling day!

I got my 'denture to go' great place and because they dont take Medicaid, they worked with my dentist and she was wonderful but between the two, I didn't get much information... other than not to take mine out for 2 weeks, and not to rinse with salt water because of dissolvable sutures and dissolvable gauze because of being on blood thinners...

I found a place in Harrison Arkansas that does dentures much more affordable than implants. I get them today. 19 teeth & a couple fragments of broken teeth that to come out. I'm scared. The odd thing is they had to prescribe narcan to prescribe pain pills. Insurance doesn't cover narcan & they won't fill without the other. The cost is insane. So I'll be taking ibuprofen & tylenol. Fingers crossed.

    • @JustinBsDentureJourney
      @JustinBsDentureJourney  Před 2 lety +1

      The top of the roof of your mouth is partially covered. It’s different and weird at first. But you get used to it. Taste really isn’t affected. The lower denture is a u shape so only covers where the teeth were. That’s reason why the bottom is not as great of a fit compared to top.

I was making myself physically sick but after losing my husband almost four years ago due to health problems. I had to get it done I had no choice. It's genetics that caused my problems anyway I was beyond myself but I finally thought LONG and hard. It's either my health or head down a rough road and who knows. They say any day above ground is a good day so I went I wasn't given anything to knock me out and I was about to come out of my skin! The surgeon I had was a really good guy and talked me through the procedure. They put some pink stuff on my gums and 4 shots of novicane and I was shocked to say the least. Because after about 10 minutes I couldn't feel my mouth AT all hon. Well to try and not make this reply to long I'm telling u I FELT nothing at all! I had 22 teeth extracted and two bones in my lower jaw shaved down on August 22 it's been as of today 3 days and hardly ANY pain! I hope this helps some. Good luck!
