Anyone else watching this the day after seeing the dentist
Yup 24 hours
Yea everyone is dumb dumb, who watches dental videos on CZcams for fun….
Yes 24hr ago ❤️🇨🇦
Yes
I’m watching the day before. Hope you guys are feeling better.
This is what all medical professionals should be like in talking to their patients. Thank you sir.
Ask questions, before you leave the dentist when he is with you. Nothing wrong with calling him. Most receptionist can answer your questions. ✌️🙏
Ours did nothing..not happy.
Yh I agree
@@stephdavies8464 yep
Exactly my thought when I was off the anesthetics they showed me a video about what not to do the whole time I’m wondering about other things Then went home thinking everything cool until the pain started rising 😂I was only prescribed 9 800 ibuprofen pills and I’m supposed to take three pills a day the day the pills ran out I was in soooo sooo much pain I was crying in the middle of the night little mad at my dentist cause I couldn’t focus on anything else but the pain and how your supposed to treat it when the WHATS if start to happen
I'm 24 hours out from my surgery. This video was great. I have been blessed to have such a caring dentist. He checked on me last night to make sure I was okay.
I gotta say...I'm a recovering addict with 8 years clean so I turned down the opiates my dentist offered after my 13 extractions two days ago......the ibprofuen and Tylenol has been absolutely amazing how well it's killed the pain. Normally with tooth infections the over the counters won't even touch the pain....for the extraction it has been absolutely effective. I wish I had gotten over my fear of dentist years ago...maybe those 13 teeth could've been saved...if your scared...just find a dentist who understands the fear. The dentist I found sat me up and helped me breathe when I had a panic attack. Told me.."I cleared up my whole morning for you. I know you have a fear of this. We can sit here for an hour if you need it. We are going to do this together and I promise I will do the best job I possibly can." He made me feel like I was a human being a customer and a patient all at once. Find your right dentist and I promise your quality of life will go up after extraction....I'm still healing as this was three days ago BUT the pain of the extractions is NOTHING compared to the constant dental abscess pain I had for years prior.
Wow, your dentist!!
@@joeyhunter842 I think growing up the youngest of 6 on a farm has alot to do with it. We got used to pain. We were an hour and half from any ER so if we broke our arm it was likely we would have to wait a couple hours for someone to get home with a vehicle to take you etc. Pain kinda became a part of the routine if that makes sense. Plus my brothers "toughening" me up.
@@seanmitchell2610 First, congrats on 8 years! That is a major accomplishment! Second, your dentist sounds like an actual human being that understands what is going on. Sure wish that I could have found a dentist that understood the implications of autoimmune disorders on the mouth as I'm now having to have all of mine pulled and have implants done.
Since your last post, how is your mouth feeling? Did you have any complications? Again, congrats on 8 years!
Dealing with an abscess now, need 7 teeth total to come out. Fear is a brick wall and made worse by little compassion! Appointment in a week to have at least the abscesses one removed. The thing is, sedation… it scares me too!
Praying to have reduced fear and lots of faith to get through it.
Thank you for sharing your story!
Same for me, couldn’t do any narcotics. Got all 4 out and ibuprofen, aleve, and acetaminophen does the trick just fine. Absolutely no pain at all for me on day 3, and didn’t have any on day 1 or 2 really either.
I left the dentist and they told me none of those things so I very much apprieciate your help. Thank you (Again)

You can have coffee? How did you do it post surgery
Excellent post-op information! Thank you for taking the time to film it and provide it here.
Probably the most useful information on CZcams. Thank you so much for sharing. Save me from a night of unnecessary pain.
Extremely helpful video with clear explanation about all relevant info. Thank You!
This is the most informative and useful aftercare video I have ever seen. I have just gotten my teeth extracted and I have followed the guideline my doctor gave me but nothing helped until this. Chuu said coffee and I ran and made my coffee. I got Tylenol (the super ones) and the ice I have been doing for a while. As soon as I followed your instructions, I felt SOOOOOOOOO much better. Especially the coffee. The pain is there but it's gotten less and less and I have never felt pain like this before (and that's saying a lot) so THANK YOU!
I am so thankful for your detailed video. So honest and thorough it has really calmed me down. 😊
Your advice was better than all of the dentist that I have been to
A good suggestion is to gargle gently with salt water (do not use warm/hot water) and avoid spitting in the first few days. Supplement with protein shakes, zinc, vitamin C, D, magnesium to accelerate the healing process. Also, bone broth are excellent to help with bone healing. Hope this help anyone.
I was about to ask about salt water rinse. If it was important, he would have mentioned it !
@@flatheadfletch yes salt water helps in healing
So if you can't spit the rinse out, do you just sorta let it drip back out?
@@veronicalagor4771yes
I am planning to try this after my garage run out
Great video and the way you present is fantastic!
I had oral surgery this morning. Your video was very helpful!
This video is so well done, perfectly explained.. bravo 👏 thank you
Great video, like how informative you are and easy to understand
Thank you. I just had some extractions and this helped me a lot. My Oral Surgeon have me the medicines I need and instructions however this video added to the instructions. Very helpful.
Really helpful for any patients. Good helper for sharing.
Thank you for this great video. My doctor explained everything but I barely remembered anything she said. This video is really helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
You are the best! I'm bout to have all mine extracted, heal, and then get dentures. This helped so much! Thank you!
Having three extractions and plate inserted tomorrow. Glad to have come across this video
youre gonna be okay! remember, all pain is temporary. good luck
This is the best video I have watched for after wisdom tooth removal care!! I’ve had lots of pain due to a unexpected dry socket that was treated (today) after seven days of pain with meds. I do believe that I followed all the do’s and don’ts. My dentist said my case is not common at all. Now I wait for relief.
Thank you
Thanks for sharing, I'm scared I have dry socket I have extreme swelling but I'm taking so much advil and Tylenol so the pain doesn't come how do I no if its dry socket
How did you get a dry socket?
I’m on day three and the pain is still there at a level 10. If I’m sleep the pain is worst when I wake up. I have been on meds since around the clock but I will add the coffee cause this pain ain’t no joke. This information was very informative. My doctor was great and she took her time with me also. Dr. Hanna thanks a lot for comforting me as this was an life changing experience for me that she made very comforting ❤
Are your tooth impacted? You feel worst pain 😢😢 I'm scared
Worst swollen gum u feel
Excellent source of information. Many thanks
Instantly following! Thanks for the content.
I liked your explanation. So easy and clear.I wish every health practicianer could do that
Thanks for the informative information I’m recovering from surgery right now and this video helped eased my anxiety 😟
Best video out there! You explain everything so well!
Thank you very much! I appreciate that
I had complete extraction, and i was sore, but just about pain free... I mean, it was a world of difference. I was given a zpac to take along with my ibuprofen. The first 3 days, all I could do was have popsicles, which felt amazing on my gums (yes I rinsed after having them). I got my dentures the day after my surgery, and they made my mouth hurt, so I didn't wear them all the time the first couple of days, aside from the facetimes with my family and friends. I can safely say that I am happy with my smile for the first time in my life, and it doesn;t look fake at all,.. and these aren't even my good ones... so it is only getting better.
I just had an extraction and bone grafting. Your video is super helpful for my healing process.
Thank you so much! 👍🏻
I had the same! It hurts :[
Excellent content, Doc! Great video!
What a great informative video doctor!
This was very helpful, and the most informative and complete video I could find. I’m on day 4 and healing quick from a wisdom tooth extraction 🙌🏿🦷
I m on day 2 please help somuch pain
I'm on day two and I'm dying my face is soo big
Day 4 Dreaming of pizza. 🤤
Day 2, just keep worrying about the dry socket 😢. Can’t sleep rn
Day 4 and still in pain.... 😢
If you’re reading this, and about to get yours out, don’t be scared, I was terrified. I got all 4 of mine out and there was nothing to be worried about. I’m on day three with absolutely no pain and can eat pretty good already. Also Sleeping just fine. Just do everything your doctor says and take your medicine and you will be fine. had hardly any swelling. I literally have no pain at all from all three days and I got no prescription narcotics, just ibuprofen and antibiotics.
Very helpful, thanks. Wearing my new braces for about a week now and my Orthodontist will be extracting 4 teeth in about 10 day from now. It sounds scary to me, especially when my mouth and teeth is already sore from eating, biting or chewing even soft food.
Hello, I’m getting mine extracted in 2 days. We’re your teeth fully erupted? Did you get a bone graft on the bottom ones?
@@marthaaloren all of mine were fully erupted but i didnt get any bone graft.
I had 1 extracted, day 5 and Im in excruciating pain. Narcotics ibuprofen or Tylenol is not working. Worst pain of my life :/
@@slim09bella13 thats crazy how differently it effects people. sorry to hear that, idk how but i had virtually no pain and all i took was tylenol and advil. everyone is different so i would try to find someting to give you relief and try to tuff it out for a day or two, mouths heals really fast so you should be good in a few days.
Great information and well presented.
Great advice!! Very helpful!!
Great video, great advice. Thanks.
He is a great scientist. Thank you for advice.
Best video I found. Thanks Doc
I have surgery trauma from something totally opposite but I'm still binging all these wisdom teeth advice vids and they are helping to relax me ngl lmao
An excellent presentation and thanks for sharing. Cheers!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that
Great video! Really helpful!
Thanks for the advice! I had an infected molar out 6 days a go with a few surgical complications. Took about 40 minutes in total and absolute agony despite 3 doses of local anaesthetic. I had SO much anxiety over the last week because being in constant pain really affects your mental health. I followed this advice exactly (except I use salt water instead of mouthwash) and day 6 I am almost entirely pain free! No swelling, no aching, nothing! I am basically back to normal now with just some ibuprofen here and there. This video helped me so much and really calmed my anxiety. Thank you!
I am having a molar then a partial at the same time also have anxiety your comment and this video has helped calm me down
@@littlemissmakeup075 you will be fine! It might suck for a week but just rest up and look after yourself and you'll be feeling like yourself in no time!
Bro...mine took 2 hours.. 20 shots of local anaesthesia.. It pains because of infection..😪 sort of traumatic.
@@kosikable yeah infected teeth getting taken out is another level of pain. I empathise! Hope you're feeling better now though!
@@custardpup6385 yes... I almost had a trauma..🤤
Thank you, this was perfect! All the best!
I absolutely did everything wrong. First gauze was full of blood. Rinsed out my bloody mouth and spit three times. Kept switching gauze out every 15 min. Last gauze was somewhat tinged - immediately drank a strawberry banana milkshake. Realized the strawberries have those little seeds, switched to mashed potatoes. All within 2 hours of getting home. I'm within 24 hrs of extraction and not looking forward to day 3! 😭😭
Girl RIP just keep doing the right steps from here on. I was spitting and switching gauze yesterday too until i realized im not supposed to! We got this! I just got my tooth extracted yesterday lol
@@poprocks1396 lol
Really nice explanation indeed..!!
To sum up...
keep wet (not soaking wet) gauze piece (not cotton) on the extraction site for 30 to 45minutes... apply a constant, light, firm pressure with teeth to help in clotting
Remove the gauze after 30/40 minutes with your hands.. do not spit it out
immediately after have something cold,an ice cream preferably.. donot suck onto it and if having cold juice donot have it with a straw and no carbonated drinks (basically no sucking)
Have yours medications after this
spitting not allowed for 24hours..
no licking or checking of wound allowed for 24hours
after completion of 24 hours.. start with warm saline rinses(luke warm water) thrice daily
brush your teeth regularly with soft bristles.. do not brush over extraction socket and use a mouthwash 10 min post brushing.. do not eat of drink for another 10 min
extraction wound is just like any other wound.. any aggressive activity like sucking, spitting, licking, coughing too hard might dislodge the wound, hence avoid them
For anybody undergone lower jaw 3rd molar extraction..mouth opening exercises should be started 24 hours after the extraction to maintain good mouth opening
also, donot apply cold compacts after 24hours.. donot have anything too spicy of hot for 72 hours
do a gentle mouth wash after every meal
and chew food from the other side
My husband just had a full mouth extraction and the dentist didn’t tell us anything in regards to the medications. The nurses just kept saying to do as the doctor advised. So I guess we go off of what the prescription bottle says. Very disappointed it that clinic. I am glad to run into this video to get the information we need to assist my husband on feeling more comfortable. Thank you 🙏🏼
Nurses don't work in dentist office. Probably a dental technician;)
@@UmmAdam9 and your point for your comment is what?? How is it helpful at all? Geez some people don’t have nothing better to do than try to correct people. Get a life.
Such an empowering video. Prepping for molar extraction next week then deep impacted wisdom teeth surgery in some months to come.
Very helpful and useful information, thank you so much for sharing :)
thank you for all the advise, very helpful
Thank you. Truly helpful !
Thank you Gum Dentist this video told me all I needed to know in preparation for my dental extraction.
Thank you. I had a tooth extracted and bone graft was added. I been in terrible pain since they did it 4 days ago. I think I know why it has been hurting. I haven’t been able to eat soft foods not resting. Thank you doctor.
I had my one of my upper back tooth pulled two days ago. I haven't had any pain. I have pain medication in case anything change . The swelling already came down from my face. Thank you for sharing those helpful information.
Super informative and clear explanation thank you
Thanks so much for this awesome video!
Thanks you made my surgery much more enjoyable.
Thank you so very much sir.Extremly informative .BE BLESSED 🙏🙏🙏
This was soooooooooo helpful! I wish my dentist would’ve told me some of this beforehand. Thank you! 🙌🏾
I was told beforehand and after,in a release information to the patient. I had all my teeth extracted. And tomorrow should get my 4/4 ,implants. Am in pain ,but have had so many surgery's some major,. I'm
. Mentally ready ,and everyday is one less day of pain.✌️🙏
Thank you for this great video!
Ice and cold drinks had a strange effect on me. They took the pain away but once my mouth started to warm up naturally again the pain was horrific. Then I drank more ice water and pain gone in seconds. My dentist told me the cold forces the blood out of the area and when it warms up new blood rushes back in and this can make all the nerve endings very sensitive. I chose not to do this as the pain was unbearable. I found most comfort keeping my mouth at normal temperature and using benzocaine gel and lozenges like Strepsils with numbing agent in them. The antibiotics made my mind ‘spin’ and made me nauseous so I stopped them. Day 3 post molar removal. Good luck everyone. 😅
Excellent information
Thank you.
Very informative video thank you so much for sharing ❤
Fantastic suggestions!
Great video!! The only thing differently my dentist told me was no mouthwash for a few days and no exercising for the first 5 days. Thanks again!!
Wow that is important to know too!!
Great video, very informative. I had surgery and they pull ot 10 pieces, now I'm with my dentures recovery.
The entire process from the very start to the present (about 4 days post op) I have had the best care and attention I could’ve ever imagined. I can contact multiple sources if I have any questions about my recovery process and I have a few times.
Good advice Here!! Thank You
Just wanna echo that about the antibiotics. They should start working in a few days, and yes that’s great, but finish the entire course as it’s been prescribed. I’ve talked to so many people who stop taking their antibiotics after they notice they’ve worked. They wanted to save the extra for a rainy day. Pleeeeease don’t do that. You need to finish them all. Never save up antibiotics and take them at a later time for something different. Take them all, and always consult your doctor any time you may feel you’ll need antibiotics for any reason.
Thanks man, I appreciate it 🙏🏻
Great tips. I’m glad that I watched this video before I have a bone graft done tomorrow.😊
Hope you had an easy surgery. I will be soon
@@chera881 I was surprised that there was no swelling or pain the next day. I just couldn’t believe it but it’s true. I didn’t need any pain meds.
Thank you for the IBU sodium info!!!
How interesting. I was actually told to stay away from caffeine and there you are recommending it. I normally have at least one or two cups of coffee in the morning and I really missed it those first few days after getting my tooth pulled.
Very good information.
Thank you for the info. 🙏
Great, useful advice that I will certainly employ today - day 3 after extraction and my dentist never mentioned pain relief or ibuprofen 😞

Good luck to everyone on their journey to healing, may it be quick and painless as possible.
P.S This is day 1 since my surgery and have been in excruciating pain!!! So far, ice cream and Advil have been very comforting and helpful in relieving any pain. Although, I don’t know how long it will last. I might have to take Tylenol in addition to manage with the pain.

Hey. Can I know where exactly did you get it done. And how was it. And was it a local anesthesia or general please
@@meghanaarikeri1374 i did it at local clinic here in KL. I was given local anaesthesia. It was a synthetic bone graft and it took me 3 weeks of liquid food to survive it 😂 my dentist said i can have solid food after 1 week but I didn't want to take the chance.
