      @paperhag Před 3 lety +12

      @Noah Sylvers Actually the Raptors have never had a 60 win season.
      Its even crazier that they also had one of the worst playoff coaches in NBA history and a #1 option in Derozan who never played any defense and crumbled in the biggest moments. Those Raptors were just a good regular season team not at all built for the playoffs.

    • @paperhag
      @paperhag Před 3 lety +9

      @Noah Sylvers ROFL!!!!
      The finals!!? They only could have made the finals in 2016. Even in 2016 the Raptors barely beat the Pacers in 7 games then the Heat in 7 games.
      In 2017 the #1 Raptors only barely beat the Bucks in the first round! In 2018 Derozan completely disappeared. The #1 Raptors barely even beat the #8 Wizards in the first round! How on earth were they making the finals!? They would have gotten beat by the Celtics if they beat the Cavs! It hilarious all this revisionist history making Toronto seem like a juggernaut when in reality they were more like the 60 win Hawks who also had a terrible playoff coach and got swept when they played an actually good team. Or like the Bucks the past 2 season who also have that same terrible playoff coach and got exposed when they played any good teams.
      Its not that hard to be great in the regular season and beat up on the terrible team in the league but the playoffs are a whole different animal. And if you have a coach that refuses to make any adjustments you get embarrassed like the Raptors did, like the 60 win Hawks did and just like the 60 win Bucks did the past 2 seasons!
      You cannot convince me that a team with a head coach like Dwayne Casey and players like, Derozan, Carroll, Patterson and Scola were going to make the Finals.
      I am a Raptors fan I watched all those teams and after seeing what it takes to really make the finals I can say without a doubt those Raptors wernt going to Finals or winning a damn thing!

    • @paperhag
      @paperhag Před 3 lety +5

      @@ummesaniyah Raptors didnt play up to their level. It was Pascals first season as a number 1 option and we still have a very young team that can get better. The main difference is that we fought hard and were only 2 possessions away from advancing.
      I mean even during our finals run we needed that Game 7 shot from Kawhi in the second round to advance. We just didnt have a go to scorer this season. Our defense was incredible though. And we just didnt have the talent to make it to the finals again.
      But we sure as hell didnt get swept or embarrassed.
      The summer of 2021 will be the one the Raptors need to capitalize on. If we can snag a great scorer we can be a contending team for 4 - 7 years. Doesnt mean we will win but we will have chances to.
      That being said I love Derozan and will forever love him no matter where he plays! He's one of the best personalities on the league.
      I just wish he spent one whole off season just working on his defense. Thats the main thing that prevents him from being amazing in the playoffs.
      I also think LBJ is the best player of this generation, but I just think this story is a little blown out of proportion. Dwayne Casey is one of the worst coaches I've ever seen in the playoffs. Man once drew up a play in a Game 7 for the WRONG SIDE OF THE COURT!!!
      There is just no way you can convince me that Dwayne Casey was even an average coach in the playoffs. So I am not surprised at all that someone as great as LBJ knew all of his plays.
