Brendan van Ryn. I honestly wonder what happened to that guy, he was amazing on their Infinite Death EP. Last I heard was that he joined a Black Metal band back in 2016. Never heard of him since.

I grew up in the time period which Deathcore was unleashed and I think it's wasn't necessarily the music, more so the cringe hardcore fans doing air kicks and also the lyrics in deathcore were more 'emo' or hardcore in style, versus death metal which was just brutality and evilness. I always liked deathcore but I never went to any deathcore shows because I couldn't stand that they didn't mosh right. Also the breakdowns were a bit generic and predictable, and deathmetal was known for being more abstract and esoteric in it's approach. I'm still in the same boat about deathcore, it's cool music but the fans turn me off. that being said, carnifex's drummer was always super fun to watch and carnifex are great musicians.
