    As my bike is a "Superlight", I have a superlight stop-disc and a titanium bolt to hold it. And as You I just have an ordinary black elastic velcro band on my bike. I put it on the frame when not in use, for being ready. Finn. Denmark

    Chris, I don't ride a lot but when I do I like to be comfortable. Have you tried any of the suspension seat posts for the Brompton? There are so many at very different prices I would really like to know if you have tried any and if you can recommend one or two. Perhaps you could make a video about them. I am six foot tall and around 95kg on a good day and finding the right one is proving very difficult. I respect your work very much so any advice from you would be taken.

      Hi Slicedpage
      Im very sorry, but I've never used a seatpost that has suspension.
      I get a little dizzy when the bike is too soft.
      You could use a softer Brompton Suspension and a very comfortable saddle to improve your ride quality.
      Use low, 65PSI/70PSI, or buy a wider tyre that will give you more comfort on riding.
      This little adjustments will make your ride more enjoyable.

      A brompton has a suspension behind the saddle! You are able to find many kinds of those, both specially graduated for a persons weight and as metal springs. It functions as suspension for both the front and the back. Finn. Denmark

    Great tip! Considering buying a ergo GP grip to my brompton. I want to go for GP3 rather than GP2 as my hands are quite large but I am not sure if the horn length on GP3 interfere with the fold. Do you know what is the largest horn size that one could go on brompton before it starts getting affecting the fold?

    • @ChrisbyBike
      @ChrisbyBike  Před rokem

      Hi Murat Hacimuratlar
      It depends on your easy wheels and Rack.
      I know that the GP2 fits very well.
      If you have a chance, try it on before you buy it.
      Nice to have you on board!

    • @NoZenith
      @NoZenith Před rokem +1

      I was shopping the different sizes for this very reason. I have a 9 inch handspan for example and that tiny gp2 nub is better than nothing for sure, but I wanted more. I found out you can buy the bar ends separately to change out in the grip! I kinda wanna try the gp5 😆. I still haven't found a local shop to try the gp2 versus gp3 on foldability on my h6r though. Remember if you don't have a rack, the end of your handlebar is going to be closer to the ground, which is actually the most compromising point of getting these barends installed... going to go back and try and find the video I watched with a guy who used GP3s and was very happy... It's been a long time so I might not find the video, so don't hold your breath waiting for me. If I find it, I'll post the link here.

      Here is one video where he does a nice overview if you're just starting to shop. Having trouble finding the guy that tried different horns when folding a Brompton 🤔.

      @@ChrisbyBike Thanks for the prompt reply :) Unfortunately I do not have easy wheels and the rear rack (yet) as I tend to use a front bag to carry stuff. So, I take it that without the easy wheels and the rack, even GP2 horn would touch the ground? If that is the case I may as well go with GP3 or GP4... I do not know, this decision started to become more complicated that it should, perhaps I am overthinking but I really like the convenient fold of the Brompton and I do not want do anything I will regret later. However, I am doing long distance on Brompton sometimes less than average roads and with my big hands I get a pain on my wrists after a while. Perhaps GP1 is the best option for me to make sure the that the fold is not affected...

      Hi Geremyleung
      I've never used the omni wheels. Head nice comments about it.
      But lifting the front wheels is very simple and requires no effort. Just press down the handlebar a bit, and they lift from the floor .

    And as I don't use a Brompton rack (I have some from titanium, but I have never actually used them!), I have an extendable telescope axle with wheels (Alu with a carbon tube in the middle), in my case, 10 cm Chinese wheels, but the larger size ordinary Brompton wheels are also useable, as any extra ones! The original size Easy Wheels are hopeless on anything but a totally flat surface, and just to make people buy the larger size as extra! I normally don't need a rack for anything, so why waste money on one? The ordinary type T-bag is enough for me. And my grips are from leather, with a nice "Brompton" print on them, and a security ring in both ends! They functions for me and my use. Finn. Denmark
