0:01 Every time Graham says “you!” and points at someone I always think about Tom Hiddleston impersonating him hahahahaha 😂😂😂
JessiZ 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
LMFAOOOOOO 😂😂😂😂 LMFAOOOOOOOOO 😂😂😂😂 "So *youuuuuuuu*, so yOuUuUuU.... you've never been on the sHoW before!!" 😂
I was literally thinking the same! 😆
Me too 🤣
Not just me then, lol!
"... don't worry, it'll be there." 😂
Thanks we did watch it
that is THE best joke I have heard in years 😂
@@TheAstroflight allegedly. and meanwhile andrew was NOT making pedo love on Epstein island... wink wink
@@TheAstroflight--Notice that NONE of those "women" stated that they were raped or filed a police report at the time/ The alleged events supposedly occurred during a time when women were NOT being shamed by defendants and lawyers as was true prior to the 1960s. The "swingers" era (Cosby's cohort was on the leading edge of it) was a free-wheeling time, coinciding with "sex and drugs and rock n roll". Those women were willing to trade sex for assistance with their careers. Keep that in mind.
That is a realy old joke.
thompson and laurie dated like 40 years ago when they were attending Cambridge, its so cool to know they remain really good friends after all these years
She introduced Stephen Fry to Hugh Laurie at Cambridge. I think Rowan Atkinson was at Oxford around the same time. Imagine being "the funny guy" in your school and then you go to uni and meet the likes of them.
The episode 'Bambi' on the Young Ones TV show seems to encapsulate this perfectly.
Júlia Their body language would suggest otherwise. They both appear gaurded. Maybe for current spouses.
Thats why I was so hoping that when Emma said "I do that" Hugh had replied "I know" LOL
@@lnfreeman More a British thing then old☝🏽
It still amazes me how much Hugh doesn’t sound like House.
Similarly, I never really got used to House not not sounding like Hugh
Always amazed me that House didn't sound like Wooster
I guess it's safe to say he literally comes from the pond.
trf12567 English accents are not higher than American ones, British people just tend to use more pitch. They usually have a more sing-song way of speaking, while Americans start sentences high, end them low and rarely deviate. Using a wider variety of pitches might give you the illusion it’s higher. I certainly tend to go higher when mimicking an American accent though, I tend to go for the whiney Valley-girl cliche
I first saw Hugh as the fop in Black Adder, so House was a total 180.
Without question, Graham Norton has the best talk show ever.
His guests feel incredibly comfortable to be themselves & always want to come back, which is a HUGE compliment to Graham.
I think alcohol has to do with that, they feel like relieved with each sip they drink 🤭😁
Drinking or not…preferably drinking I love Graham and his show! He is the perfect talk show host! What a talented man!
Then WHY the sad face?

Hugely talented man. Actor comedian plays piano sings blues, complete package! We mere mortals salute such skill!
Hugh-gly talented man
A genius doctor
Which we will never see acting again... one should only... just like George Michael.. one song only
he is also a writer
Who didn't expect such a hilarious ending? I'm rolling on the floor!
10/10 for that punchline. XD
I just spat a chocolate digestive all over my phone! Did not see that coming at all.
Such an old joke
I worked out the general answer as soon as he asked the question, but it was still funny 😂
@@moptopbaku6022 You'd never heard that story before and you were pretending it was an old joke because Hugh is more popular than you and you want to kiss him.
The slight and quick smirk on Hugh when Emma said: "I do that"... he knows :D
I read a story that they dated in college or something
@@Weegee766 I konw, that's why I noticed it :)
Hugh is a British legend, if you haven’t watched him as the Prince Regent in Blackadder then you need to watch ASAP. Brilliant 🤩
I love Blackadder! What a powerhouse cast. Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.
blackadder is still one of my top five shows of all time
But when work in America.. one show and you will never ne heard of again😂😂😂
RDJ's laugh at the end is everything I came for!
The best ♥
I don't think I've ever seen him having so much fun.
Didn't even notice that he was there
He didn't laugh he clapped. Once.
@@steve17bf2 he laughed listen to it carefully...
House and Sherlock on a couch..... These are the days I live for❣️
Nss Teja. Add Nanny McPhee and those days will triple for you😉👌🏽🤣
And Hugh has actually played Benedict Cumberbatch's (the other Sherlock) dad before.
Alternatively, Iron Man and Wooster xD
No, Mary poppins and the prince regent. Legends.
In that case - you need to get a life. . . .
The last time Robert Downey Jr was on, he was on with Jeeves. Now he's on with Wooster. He has the full set.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@@Seballs666 eh, apples to oranges. That's like saying the rolling stones outclass Eminem. It's just preference at that point.
Indeed, so lucky
These Cambridge educated actors: one reason they're hired is they always have a good story to tell when it comes to promoting their latest film.
"Don't worry, it will be there."
That is hilarious!
In Russia we have this joke of an old bear instructing a young cub on how to hunt a human. "Most importantly, make absolute sure he looks you in the eye before you charge. - But why? - Tastes much better shitless."
Never thought I'd see a paraphrase of it in a real-life story from Hugh Laurie!
If the punchline of the story is true, then this is an old South African joke too. Considering it was a South African handler, I would guess the guy used the punchline of that joke on Hugh. It is a joke about the safari survival guide on dangerous animals.
It goes through two or 3 genuine sounding survival tips to throw you off the scent of it being a joke. Then the punchline is the Lion one.
@@jimmyeatsom3375 Thanks for that.
Definitely has a 'ring' of truth to it!
о, русский
🤣😂🤣😂
Same thing, but with a mother shark teaching baby shark how to hunt humans, saying he needs to show his fin at least three times to the human before eating them :)
But the real question is:
Does that lion have lupus?

My deceased brother looked so much like Hugh, right down to the mannerisms, any time l miss him, l look at Laurie clips!
I love this talkshow. It's the best one out there. They let their guest talk and its always fun good humored stuff. Just stories about weird things that happened or goofy things. It's not whos dating who or who's slept with who. Its just wholesome fun that makes it feel like friends just hanging out on a couch rather than celebrities being interviewed. I love it 😀 😍
This show works so well additionally because the guests are all on the couch at the same time, and they have either worked with or met each other at some stage and it’s totally unfiltered and they get liquored up back stage to relax them.
Graham Norton is King of Chat shows and long live the King 👏👏
King?
So much talent on one couch. Absolutely delighted that Robert Downey Jr. has come back so strong.
House and Tony Stark has joined the chat.
And trelawney

@@yowaddup5649 Sherlock Holmes and Dr Gregory House sounds better.

If anyone deserves immortality, it's hugh
No question
I think Hugh Laurie is brilliant. Such an amazing actor.
I mean I’d rather work with a recently sexed reasonably well fed lion rather than one that wasn’t those two things
I too like my lions recently sexed and well fed.
Sexed 😂
At the bottom of a hill, even.
Truth be told, "recently sexed and reasonably well fed" is the optimal state to work with any creature, even humans
If he'd been smart he would have specified the same working conditions for himself.
OMGosh, these three guests are literally HILARIOUS. I love them all!
It's lovely to see Hugh again! I still miss House.
0:01 Tom Hiddleston as Graham Norton.
Why are all the British guests wonderful story tellers? The timing of delivering the point is so good, before that you have no idea what would come.
I just can’t with his real accent like I’m seeing and hearing two different people.
dr house is not with us
I like how his real voice is three octaves higher than his American accent.
@@jwhippet8313 I don't think that's on account of the accent, but rather the character he played.
J Whippet
My wife noticed the same thing with the Welsh actor Matthew Rhys who used an American accent in “It’s a beautiful day”. That voice was at a lower octave then when he spoke with his native accent. Fascinating.
amal zuhair
I do feel privileged that I got to know him and his work prior to House so I knew of (and could appreciate) his extra effort in that series on top of the rest of his performances in that series. Plus I avoided this schism you are feeling/describing which I totally understand.
I've only known Hugh from his role on House which is my favorite tv show of all time. Then I saw a movie he was in and I thought why do these American actors always take roles using terrible fake English accents? Then I found out he was English and I was so impressed at his undetectable delivery of an American accent. He is just a fabulous actor.
so are you saying his English accent sounds fake and terrible? lol
@@MrKijana23 My perception was he was an American doing an English accent. The fault is mine as I thought it was a bad impression when in reality it was supremely accurate.
British guy here. We grow up watching a huge amount of American television and movies so most of us can mimic an American accent pretty easily because we're so used to hearing it.
@@MrKijana23 That's what I thought, which is itself ridiculous!
@@fredfredburger5150 Having grown up with Monty Python my fake English accent sounds more Terry Jones dressed in drag ;)
I love Emma Thompsons quip "yes, I like that before filming too".
Deadpan humour... Laurie is hilarious without trying ...and I love Emma Thompson is so straight faced ... Awesome !!
Nany McPhee, House, and Sherlock. Nice 🔥
Is it not Julie Andrews on the couch?
Line Bach ok😄, my mistake.
House is based on Sherlock Holmes, so in a way, there are two Sherlocks!
By far the best Graham Norton story!! Hugh Laurie is quite the story teller :-)
My thoughts as soon as the video started was Tom Hiddleston - “.....So you,so you, you’ve never been on the show” 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 ah now I’m going to have to watch it again,he’s brilliant 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Whenever I see Hugh, he reminds me of Mr. Palmer. He absolutely nailed that role even if it was for a few minutes
Sense and Sensibility?
@@mosart7025 yes
I still remember what a shock it was finding out that House was super British, haha. British actors are so much better at American accents than vice versa😂
That was hilarious ngl. You don't see RDJ laugh at stories ever cos hes a cool dude but he lost it at the end. Legend.
Hugh does a great British accent. 😂
Hugh Laurie is wonderful as always ❤️
I'm so glad the episodes have been broken down into a few minutes. Really focusing on the best parts.
Hugh Laurie is just amazing
When Laurie is telling his story, Thompson is making Jeff Goldblum faces 😂😂
Robert's reaction at the end 😆❤
It's fascinating how easily he talks about this "experience", how amasingly he changes expressions and postures, and voice tones, how he pauses and looks around, so spontaneously, so convincing. That's what a great actor does.
As a South African I am unsurprised at the handlers comment 🤣 we just can’t take anything serious
Iron Man/Sherlock Sharing screen with House is breaking my mind
1 year and still mind blowing
It's not easy to surprise and amuse the worldly RDJ but the fact that Hugh Laurie did just goes to show how good he is.
1:34 RDJ facial expressions
I loved watching him... You can tell he hears alot of bs and was so pleasantly suprised by the punchline lol.. #worthit

Emma Thompson and Hugh Laurie - 2 Icons of British Comedy.
1*. How is Thompson an icon of British comedy?
Hardly makes her an icon though

Hugh Laurie... raconteur extraordinaire!
He's 1 of the best entertaining people of my generation.
What a lovely couch of guests!
What a incredible story teller!
Still find it wholesome to see celebrities laugh, seeing R. D. J laughing at the end just reinforces these icons as regular people.
Nice to see Mr. Hophouse and his daughter-in-law grew to like each other.
Hugh Laurie is a great storyteller!
This story never gets old😂
All the Hughs are so funny! 😂

0:39 look how Emma and Robert are sitting and there is Hugh. they are so powerful 👌😭❤️
What the hell is going on with Ummm Emma's hair!?? "Don't worry it'll be there!" Hilarious.
To hear Hugh Laurie speak still gets to me because he can sound so "American" and when he's just talking so British. It's cool.
I really want a House movie and waiting for The Night Manager season 2
You'll be waiting a LONG time for either thing. However, a Night Manager season 2 is more likely to happen than a House movie ever will be.
There`s something about them brittish always telling such funny anecdotes
They can get away with naughty things because of the accent ya..
@@manclass3 Why does the rest of the world seem to think there is only ONE 'British accent (the plummy, posh one that Hugh Laurie and Emma Thompson have here?) We Brits can assure you all, there are dozens of types of 'British accents' and most of them don't sound like this.
Can anything be said without the political correct squad giving a ticket these days?
@Ken Ver who needs to fit in, and fit into what?
@Ken Ver lmaooooo wtf I just really like Emma Thompson and I love Hugh Laurie's music bit regardless of that most stories I hear British people tell sound quite interesting. That's it I'm not worshipping anybody, they're normal human beings. So please chill up dude like wtf
I was hooked on House. Also thought Laurie was American. I was blown away when I first heard him on a talk show. Still do!
Expected of Hugh to bring so much humour 😂😂
My dad told me that exact same joke about 30 years ago.... it was one of his favourites!! The SA guy working with the lion obviously has a better claim on that joke though 😆
This is such a genius move to have two legendary men known for playing a character with the exact same personality of the other the only difference bee between the two is one of them saves the world flying around in his metal armor while the other limps around with his wooden cane
I thought you meant Sherlock Holmes. House is based on Holmes.
