Yeah man! Kewl beans! Was lookin at the vx800’s but they’re not that plentiful here in north east pa. That or the shadow chain drive vt(?)600’s. Most everything i was able to source was from Ebay & Babbits Online. They were the only ones that had most if the parts for this model in stock. Wasnt crazy bout shipping but hey.
I have a 1992 vs800. I bought it 5 years ago with just 1500 miles on it. I've put on around 8000. It has been the most problematic bike I've owned in 40 years. It is running pretty good right now but no way would I have bought it had I known how much trouble it would be. The worst design flaw in it is the location of the battery. It has caused me countless hours of grief.
@@mcycleshawn yes sir, I have had my 86 for about a year now. The only negative is the battery location, makes it a pain to remove and reinstall (worst design ever!). Hope to see you get it up and running.... injoy the ride!
Battery location! Yes!!! I was very surprised to find it down there!! 😂 I’m sure it was due to wanting a low seat height and they noticed.....”Hey! There is an empty spot down there!!”
Trying to figure out whats wrong with mine. Started losing power while riding, then shut off. Brand new battery fully charged, fuses all look fine, wires seem ok.. turn the key and theres absolutely no power. No lights, no nothing.. any ideas?
I my self own a VS600GLT Yes suzuki built a 600 yours has a highway hawk riser Also early intuders in Europe had a buzzer on the indicators The seat came in 3 types Type 1 one piece standard foam Type 2 2 seperate stand foam Type 3 was same as 2 but gel The battery box underneath was a deterrent to stop theft of your battery I owned a 600 700 750 800 intruder in the past Light panels below the speedo was headlight highbeam oil natural indicators

Heh ;) actually there are specs for adjusting the valve lifters or tepetts whatever people want to call them. Fairly easy. But if you need to get in deep, ya may wanna look that up. Just rebuilt an 86 from the frame up last year. Not wise for a first rebuild but im stubborn so it was a match made in hell.. 😜
@@mcycleshawn Trail Tech Tach-Hour TTO digital Gauge.. thats the one i found works great on the vs700 as a tach. needed it for adjusting & tuning the carbs and the idle. item# 742-A00 ;)
@@pedrosanpedro5281 you need the manual, and some feeler guages. you might have a bigger problem (like over heating) which involves a whole nother approach to diagnose & set straight. nut once you have the manual you'll know what to remove to reset the teppits and reduce the tapping.
I was given a 700 some things broken and missing.... never had a motorcycle.... thanks for the video! Very helpful
Very nice walk around 👌 and very informative, that generated some great Questions and answers well done 👏
I have a VS700 bobber... it just runs and starts like dream and has done almost 36K miles. Just did a 600mile trip this weekend no problems... :)
That’s awesome! I wish mine would live again but I do have a VX800 to rebuild!
Awesome I have a 99 1400 intruder
I have an 86 intruder. Also says manufactured in 85. Yours looks exactly like mine.
Scratch that. Slight differences. Mines later in 85 tho so probably just made the cut for 86

Wow! Was it a mess when you bought it? I have wondered about where that battery is. Does it corpse easily?
Bars and risers are not stock. That seems to be the only thing changed. Amazing bikes, soooo much fun to ride!
Thanks for the feedback! Do you have an Intruder yourself?

My only complaint with my Intruder: the ubiquitous turn signal dangle
