@Viostic1 What they are saying is the congress people should be more EDUCATED on the material they are discussing. You can't effectively interrogate people if you have no idea what you are interrogating them about. The congress people don't understand what they are talking about and can be seen repeating the same questions many times after being given an coherent and concise answer. This interrogation should have been preformed by people who have at least a little understanding of modern technology and the internet.

depends what you mean when you say competition. everyone uses the app for different aspects of its service. for example, im sure facebook doesn't have a monopoly on messaging since thats more of snapchats thing. It does however have a monopoly on FACEBOOK (and yes instagram too but thats not the point). the point is that the metaphor the senetor uses doesn't really work because the two cars he mentioned doesn't really have much of a different in terms of usage purposes (simple way to say it is it gets you from point A to point B). HOWEVER, if the senetor used the metaphor of Tesla and a Ford, THEN it would make more sense because Tesla and Ford overlap in terms of geting from point A to point B but Tesla is electric while Ford is gas and DEPENDING ON THE PERSON'S PREFRENCE FOR THOSE PERTICULAR ASPECTS OF THE CAR, the person will choose one or the other. If you use the same logic the Senator is using, every company is a monopoly of its own company.

I don't think Facebook is a monopoly. A monopoly should be a basic product or a service, that people has no other choice, apart from consuming or buying it. For example, if there are no other gas pumps other than the ones owned by the Government, then the Government has a monopoly over gas distribution. But people do not have to consume (or use) Facebook in order to survive, it is not even a basic necessity. Just my two cents.

No matter how much you despise their opponent, a politician will always have you rooting for their opponent in less than 30 seconds. The only exception is when it’s politician vs politician, in which case you just leave and hope they both lose somehow.
