I'm sad that I only found this masterpiece now, 20/05/2022, three days after the passing of the great musician who was Vangelis. But this music will accompany me in my journey in this world from now on. Greetings, and thank you for this piece of art.

Time and life is nothing but everything!!Demis is the musician who remands our connection with the devine
Vangelis and Co.did their work. All three were true dreamweavers. Rest easy and may many try to imitate you.
I know Aphrodite's Child because my father listened to. I'm very glad had the oportunit to grow up listening this master piece from Demis Roussos, Vangelis and Lucas Sideras.
Good times with my Father, rest in peace old man...

Grew up on this album, thanks to my uncle’s music exploration findings. Had not heard this song for decades. Then one night I was cruising alone on a remote road of Paros (Greek island), with a bright moon reflecting on Aegean waters. Had no FM radio, only AM where the sound was coming and going either muffled or clear like a wave. Then this song pops up and …. I just cannot describe the feeling! Even now when I recall the moment, I get goosebumps!!! All the genius of both Vangelis and Demis, is contained on that masterpiece!
I still don't know how they got this incredible sound in 1970. Vangelis' genius never fails to amaze even after years of listening.
Totally agree, I was surprised having grown up on his eighties material and him achieving virtually the same sounds at the turn of the '70s!
It's called competence and experience. It takes curiosity and courage ...
Vangelis never really wanted to record this music a whole lot. It was the rest of the band who forced the issue. The main guitarist, forget his name, Egyptian, who played various stringed instruments was a big influence. Vangelis leaned towards much more happy, commercial music which you see in some of their songs. He was pulled away from the band for a solo career.....being groomed and coddled by being told he was too good for the band. Too bad....sure would have liked to see more albums.
.
One of Vangelis’ best!!!! He will be missed
sinto muita falta !!!! me consolo com suas obras!
This is the first time I have actually heard this song 😢it certainly won't be the last, the build up is quite magnificent, takes me away from this ugly world we have to luve in. Thank you so much for this from a 67 year old who thought I had heard every great poeces of music ❤❤❤❤
Something about this song has such a surreal quality to it. Wildly captivating!
Am 19..and am blessed to have bought their album.
Will keep till the day i die.
Lovely to hear that. Simply the best 👍
Hope you’re still enjoying it , goes great with weed 👍🏼
@@mysticcamper3361❤❤❤ exactly!!
This song is simply incredible. Every time I listen to it my mind is disconnected from the real world and I travel in my memories. I love it. I don't undertand why it is completely unknown.
Thank you Demis Roussos. We will not forget you.
the music is vangelis'...
Every time I hear this track I'm in my loverly Greek islands
Yes, a marvellous song 😊
Not completely unknown! It's a collector's album, one of the best ever Prog albums. I'm very lucky to have both an original vinyl and a cd of the 666 album.
Vangelis composed this song when Demis was recording his first solo-album.
One of my all time faves. I found the vinyl in a secondhand record shop and bought it even though I have one handed down through the family. I had some of the best music and art teachers, they all listened to the same awesome music. I thank them and my family, for the gift, of my immense appreciation of music, my very diverse and great taste in music, for legends such as this..
Yes my friend I had great teachers of the streets in the mid west America that showed me the history of such awesome music.
RIP to the GOAT of music itself..Vangelis you are a beautiful maestro
He was a man....not goat.
Un video cosi bello... Per una voce bella ed emozionante... 😊😊😍😍😇😇💘💔💔🙏🙏
I can’t get over how ridiculously amazing this song is!! I’m addicted to it as of late!
The whole album is a masterpiece
LOL ... as of late....
I'm still listening in 2024. It's on my phone 🙂
Adiós Vangelis. No olvidamos tu talento. Descansa en paz!!!Desde Tucumán Argentina.
Словами невозможно передать моё восхищение! В юности у меня были записи Дети Афродиты! И долго не слышала их, когда попались, просто обалдела от глубины и красоты компазиций!

Demis you opened the gate to another world and someday we will see you there.
Journey easy my friend on the Aegean Sea.
I was looking for the sountrack of God of War The Aegean Sea and this popped out. One of my best accidental discoveries. Can't take this song out of my head now, I love it.
Have you hear 'The four horsemen' from the same album?
@@dave28d I've heard it and the whole 666 album.
True Classic .Still sounds fresh and inventive today! RIP Demis .May Aphrodite bless your soul and all who listen to your voice x
I saw the souls
I saw the martyrs
I heared them crying
I heard them shouting
They were dressed in white
they've been told to wait
The sun was black
the moon was red
the stars were falling
the earth was trembling
And then a crowd impossible to number
Dressed in white
carrying palms shouted amid
the hotless sun
the lightless moon
the windless earth
the colourless sky ...
They'll no more suffer from hunger
they'll no more suffer from thirst
They'll no more suffer from hunger
they'll no more suffer from thirst
They'll no more suffer from hunger
they'll no more suffer from thirst
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So it will be 🙏❤️
❤
This composition is always chilling.
Greece. Hellas. Mother of the western world. Powerful video of the wonderful Demis Roussos.
Great thanks for this wonderful video - Demis is a very bright, sunny man - who loves to live and through his life he shared a lot of love and happiness to many people on this Planet! We will be really missing Demis Roussos for his fantastic voice and unforgettable hits. In USSR he had and still has now millions of fans and we listened to his music on tapes and loved each of his great songs! The Agean Sea is one of my best from Demis - I lived 10 years in Greece and for me this song is very near to my heart... Greece gave us not only Theodorakis - but also these two brilliant musicians - Demis Roussos and Vangelis - both are in my top 10 play list forever. Regards, Oleg from Moscow
"Vangelis and demis roussos" to eternity..
And Lucas Sideras,and Silver Koulouris....
*YES!*
Daniel Bouju unfortunately Kouloyris only joined them for final album
May both of their souls rest in peace upon the great stage above. ♥
Great band from great Greece. Love this country 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
That guitar...that atmosphere....awesome soundscapes and content
Yes!! They were too good and therefore the UK blocked the promotion of their records. The guitar is as good as Gilmour.
The intro especially and the guitar out
@@1967davidfitness listen to the battle of locost and you find out that he is much better than the other one
For me the Bass playing Demis is just outstanding!
Very good comment... one of the best guitar work of all time
One of the first albums I bought myself. Incredible, as is this song. I keep picturing a sunrise over the sea in ancient greece when I hear it.
R.I.P Demis.
+Christopher Jackson indeed,i have the same picture, this is a brilliant son from brilliant musicians..
+Christopher Jackson R.I.P. Return If Possible
Christopher Jackson yep the intro I think conjures up that scene.
the guitar solo of silver koulouris is just from another planet!
he is a genius
Do you know which planet it’s from?!
Un chef d'œuvre que je passe en boucle depuis bien longtemps !
Goodbye ,Vangelis. Fare thee well and rock the skies.
666 is the most amazingly before its time album ever recorded, ever.
Yeni nesiller böyle harika şarkıları asla üretemeyecekler... Çünkü bu duygu eskilere has bir özellik... Tebrikler Sago...
35 years later and still good!

Always good Even in 100 years
@Filippo Cusini And yesterday Vangelis passed away. 😔 They play now together in heaven.
Some of the synth parts could pass for the eighties for sure. Amazing it was recorded in 1970 into early '71 🙂
great song, ahead of its time in sound
Rest in Peace, Vangelis and Demis Roussos.
this transports me to a different universe
this is the best guitar solo, pink floyd can be jealous
silver is a great guitarist!
I agree my friend!!!
Both are amazing
om108able its not a guitar Solo but just a bguitar part.
one of the best songs ever
With "this song", this guys reached the sound of Pink Floyd before Pink Floyd itself.
And for the friends out of Greece I say that:come to Greece summer to the sunset with one glass of wine looking to the sea and you will have the answer inside you
So I fell in love with Crete island. Best vacation memories I ever have. Vine, sea, people, landscape, heritage of Antic. Incredible. I surely will return
Amen to that.
Did that with my wife in Santorini... unforgettable
One of the best songs ever written
Agreed, very atmospheric
Was listening to a Richard Ashcroft interview for Noisey, and the journalist interviewing him, John Doran, whos brilliant, bought up this band and the song The Four Horseman. Blew my mind, what a band.
What a song !!!! Their "666" album is a jewel. At 2:54 , lay down on the floor, cross your hands behind your head and listen and listen and listen.... Magical moment of pure extasy....RIP Demis and Vangelis 😭
I liked this album all of it ... except for the woman being raped
@@MG-chaotic I thought she was faking an orgasm 🤔
This is amazing and all the people that like it seem to be nice and respectable. Love this band.
The music brings peace, everyone who listens is chilled, so the people that listen to it are chilled. There’s your answer.
Colby 83x the band is disappointing in their other albums. They're not like this one.
@@michaelsalisbury1477 yes , this album was their change of direction to a progressive sound that was bearing fruit for other bands at the time.
R.I.P Demis, still have the 666 LP to this day....great album still now, I got it in the mid 80s.

The scenery, the lyrics, vocals and music! They offer a sense of the past! Very intriguing! 666 is a great album!
Rest in peace Demis...
What a nice guy. Incredible music. RIP
Грустное видео. Для меня Демис-это солнце , море, голубое небо, любовь. Здесь- Демис-философ. Таким я его почти не знала.Такая глубина! Спасибо!
Timeless.Beautiful ,magical.Thank you .
In the midst of a global pandemic, it is very reassuring to watch this video, thanks Demis and Aphrodites for all the amazing music 666 remains a masterpiece.
We do need songs like this just now 🎼👍
❤
You know nothing
It's a very sad fact that the epidemy killed even Vangelis. :(
The pure talent and musical genius in this group its incredible...so far ahead of their time with unbelievable sound for the times.
This masterpiece could have been produced today...it would be a massive success 🤘💙🇬🇷
This was recorded 2 years bfore Dark side of the Moon and sounds newer.O
If they recorded and released in UK it would explode.
The perfect group but Demis Rousoss took it to a higher level with his looks and his style of fashion.
DEMIS is the man who rocked the kaftan.😁. Wonderful singer 🎤🎶🎶🎩🌟💖
Big fan of this band and vangelis on keyboard and programming. Demis rest in peace. 😇 💗
See you on the other side brother. The music lives FOREVER.
♥ for the great, *Demis Roussos* and *Vangelis* I have to be honest, today is the first time hearing this song and I am in awe. I have heard this song sampled by Leila and/or group named The Unknown (on MySpace, back in early '00s) and I fell in love with the feel it has. The song I speak of is called "Heart Like A Jukebox". Aegean Sea, took me to another World.
wow this is still one of the best songs ive ever heard
How can anyone not like this.? Freaks!
Greetings from the UK Demis-me n my mate loved yr sound!
Vangelis & Demis, beautiful !! Os caras tocavam demais....
Awesome. A masterpiece. ❤❤❤
We used to eat blotter acid in Lake St. Louis while listening to this we also used to eat purple microdot and window pain. They say man wasn't meant to fly but if you would trip to this album you were soaring this was almost 45 years ago we were doing this that along with catching every concert at keil and watching the Blues hockey at the arena
Wow I'm from St. Louis (Florissant). We did the acid thing to 666 also around 1974-75 ... at Sioux Passage Park one beautiful spring day ...
I was on acid when I discovered this and 4 Horsemen about five years ago. Blew my mind
Vielen Vielen Dank Aphrodite's Child für diese schöne Musik .
This song takes me deep into my conciousness, the video aswell its a masterpiece
What a great find!! A most excellent way to start my Friday morning and weekend.. Thank you SO much for uploading these!!
I still listen to this cd in 2024! Aegean Sea always a favorite 🙂
Great song from a great album.
A very great album...
Demis Roussos is really intriguing,,he seems deep yet a real easy going kind of guy/love all the black&whiter footage of them being used as backdrop fr the music
Great artists
Odlično, ❤️🎻💯😘Great, 💯🎻❤️😘
some years ago I Listened to this masterpiesce for the first time...I was under psylocibine effect and every reality piece broke his veil...every marvellous inner aspect of present appeared to me as a God gift...such an ecstatic travel along these amazing eternal notes...
In 1970 i Heard this Song.....i love It at today 2021.
Happy birthday.
Thanks for this. I'm shamed to only now be enjoying this after learning about Vangelis' music on the movie "The Bounty" which is spiritual and lovely to be sure! What a gift he shared with the world. This sharing is love. Agape, is the term? I now understand it!! Thank you. So wonderful!!
Rest in eternal peace.
God bless your soul vangelis❤🎶
I love the sweet sound of this song.
Che emozione questo video- Demis eterno-indimenticabile-fa parte del🌏, soprattutto di chi lo ama.
O simbolismo deste vídeo é sublime, sobretudo no choro da guitarra. É para poucos. Aphrodite's Child faz muita falta hoje em dia. BRAVO!!!
Simply beautiful!
Mighty great track
Wonderful sound...this video is so magic.
When this started, the first thing that came to mind was: Faaaaaantaaaaastiiiiiiic Plaaaaaaanet!
I love this sort of music!
in the 70´s there was no real promotion for music. if there was a promotion like in the 80´s and 90´s like for michael jackson, aphrodite´s child would be the kings of prog rock all over the world. the album 666 is THE masterpiece of prog rock. love and miss aphrodite´s child.
Απλά θεϊκό για τον σύγχρονο ανθρωπο.Να γίνουμε απλοί να γίνουμε αληθινοί! !Όπως τα χρόνια του Ντεμη☆

I swear to the gods this is the first time I ever smoked pot, 1978, after buying a nickel bag in a squat on 2nd street downtown, by candlelight. Somebody had a transistor radio. This song was playing.
