I don't care how many South Africans say that the all blacks vs SA is the ultimate battle. When Aussie are at their best, it's NZ and Aussie... So much gameplay, so much real rugby... And so little whinging when the game is over. Perfect rugby, rugby for the fans!
yeah to a certain extent byt we all know who the fans love to watch. SA vs NZ. I feel like Australia doesn't want to play rugby anymore. They more interested in AFL and RL. Maybe Rugby has become to physical for Australia.
I will always love smashing the aussies but the real battle in rugby heavyweight territory is for sure ABs vs Boks
I agree. The days of Gregan, Horan and epic NZ Australia battles. Grew up watching these. Great games to watch. SA is a hard watch ....always so many stoppages.
AB's vs Oz is more a battle of who has the best players from the PI or descended from the PI in their teams.
@@graemebrown5115 : SA is hard for you to watch only because they have better forwards and get the better of yours. True rugby fans love a forward battle. Nancy boys love the ballerinas in the backline.....they should stick to Sevens or League.
What a spectacle …this is proper rugby …intelligent kicking but mainly exciting running passing and tackling .(England players coaches and supporters please note )
Excellent refereeing …allowing the game to flow ….no challenging or petulant disputing of decisions and screaming in the refs face ( football players and managers please note )

Strange that you are complaining about the England team, because crowd attendance in England watching that style of rugby far exceeds that of either of these two teams, NZ cant fill a ground at home while England can expect the support of thousands of England supporters even when they play on the other side of the world. I know you love to criticise England and the English but on this one you might like to think again.

@@garywagner2466 Actually look into the history. The two sports used to be one and the same. Replace kicking the ball with carrying the ball, and replace the goal with the uprights. Add the score for the try and legalize tackling, and you’re pretty much playing rugby

i know, sponsors and money deals, but dunedin stadium will always be the house of pain for me lol.
Wallabies should have had at least two more tries in the first half, but couldn’t deliver. They knew the second half would be different. Some fierce defence on both sides. Not sure why an official channel would screw up the title and match location, and not fix it after many months. Sloppy.

Huge NFL fan...i am really enjoying more than i thought I would.
Me too but I played rugby as well but lost touch with it. I kind of thought tackling In the nfl was bad but now I really think it's beyond atrocious. I watched some old steel curtain footage and it must be coaching because Jack Lamberts tackling technique was perfect.
I remember watching this game thinking the All Blacks clearly dont have as much depth as their fans like to tell the world. Look how many starters they had and only just scraped a win at home against a very poor wallabies team.
Then seeing the lead up to and the world cup, where you look at how much depth South Africa had, which was clearly what they had been building over the four years as could be seen by the constant rotation of players during the rugby championship and warm up games, and it clearly payed off in the long run!
You won by 1 point against 14 players for most of the game with a ref and TMO who were shocking with most of the calls going your way.. that's what really happened, it wasn't a depth issue at all.
Boks only scraped past the Pumas by 1 point at Ellis Park in this years championship, sometimes lesser teams actually put up a fight so you are basically just waffling. Boks need more depth than NZ as they need two forward packs to scrape past them.
@@user-eq9jv5uf7d that was a bad game from the Boks, and argentina made the semis of the world cup, where as the wallabies didnt even make the knockouts.
NZ didn't have a bad game against the wallabies, it was just showing the depth isnt there. Same as the rugby lesson the Boks gave the ABs at Twickenham when they had just a few starters missing and were completely outplayed by the Boks, further showing that lack of depth as the NZ replacements of those injured players clearly were just not bear the level required, else it wouldn't have been such a blowout win for the Boks 🙂

Since the last world cup last I checked, the mighty Boks have beaten the ABs more times than the ABs have beaten the Boks, even with the Boks regularly rotating their team (like putting malcolm marx in the bench for the Ellis park game after what he did to the ABs the game before at Mbombela)? And also let's not forget the Boks just became the most successful rugby world cup team of all time, the holy grail of rugby, the pinnacle of rugby and general world cup team of all time with a 50% win record of world cups attended. How Did your former coach Steve Hanson do in his last world cup, as you would then clearly think that ABs team is better than this one if this is one of the worst?
So the ABs can keep their better head to head record and their "we never lost to Wales record" and the Boks will keep their better world cup record (we all know which record is the preferred in the world of rugby)👌🏻🙂
Maybe ABs should work on their discipline, as they have been outplayed by the Boks in the last 2 games they played when they had 15 men, then go and get a red card, and then use it as an excuse for losing. Discipline is a key element or rugby too 🙂
@@user-eq9jv5uf7d you and I both know it doesnt really matter how a sport is won, its about teams with different styles seeing which style comes out the best and picks up the silverware at the end of the say? How did they 196-0 win against italy work out for the ABs by the end of the world cup? The ABs had the most tries in the world cup, yet still walked away with only the silver medals as their flashy touch style rugby didn't work out so well when it came to the final and Twickenham due to the Boks incredible defense.
And when you look head to head, havent the Boks scored more tries against the ABs this year than the ABs against the Boks? So yes very average Boks team when it comes to skill...

Quick question from a fan of the NFL. I saw that on the 2nd try the player was tackled then he still scored. The 1st try looked like his knee might have been down as well.
Does that not matter in rugby? You can be "down" and reach across and score?
There aren’t any “downs” like in NFL, the equivalent in a sense is when the player is down there’s a ruck which is when they players go over the player on the floor to protect the ball but play does not stop. The only stoppages in play are when the ref blows the whistle or when the ball goes out of bounds and they do a lineout (like a throw in from soccer).
What they were looking for in the first
try was if his knee or part of his body had touched the line or went out of bounds. The second try the AUS player was tackled but since there isn’t a stoppage in play and he still had forward momentum it is still able to score
You can score if you're tackled and your momentum carries you over the line. So not like if you're tackled and roll and crawl your way to the line.

I'm new to this so correct me if im wrong.....but from my current understanding rugby is basically the gladiator variation of gridiron football with a gang of lateral passes??
Yeah, no idea what the gladiator variation of football means, and google didn’t come up with anything, so idk what that is.
American football originated from rugby and changed some rules. In rugby you can only pass laterally or backwards, and there’s no downs. Try’s are scored by pressing the ball to the ground in the in-goal area, which is equivalent to the end zone. Try’s are worth 5 points and conversions are an extra 2.

NZ only won World Cup outside NZ. South Africa have 3 away from home. Boks are the best. Anyway the Springboks were the most feared team before 1992 Nz only became fear in the last 30 years. That's also the reason NZ illegally toured SA in 1986 because they wanted to compete against the best.
