  • Hello and welcome to my latest tutorial.
    To make this pendant you will need;
    •0.8mm (20g) round wire, 5 x 11" (28cm) lengths
    • 0.315mm (28g) weaving wire, approx. 300cm
    • 8mm bead
    • 2 x 3mm beads
    • 2 x 4mm beads
    • jump ring, approx 8mm (outside measurement)
    I no longer put links to tools on here.
    The tools I use are:
    • Tronex needle nose pliers
    • Tronex short round nose pliers
    • Tronex razor flush cutters
    • Beadsmith flat nose nylon jaw pliers
    • Occasionally I use tronex bent nose pliers
    • Occasionally I use heavy duty wire cutters
    • Occasionally I use xuron needle nose pliers
    • Bobeeze bobbins (medium size with no extra weights)
    Start wrapping 4" (10cm) from the start of your wires

    What a marvelous coincidence - and a wonderful gift! You posted this on Dec 29 - my birthday! This was, by far, the nicest 'present' that I received! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial. I have long admired the elegant simplicity of your designs - and wanted to learn some of your techniques. Thank you!

    I just "found" you yesterday and am so thankful I did. I have so many beautiful "bead" type stones and it seems that every time I have tried to come up with ideas for wrapping them I get "bead block". I have only watched two of your tutorials but that was enough for me to subscribe to your channel. You have a beautiful gift of artistic talent and I am grateful for your willingness to share this. Thank you! (Now to dig out my beads again!!!)

    Kelly, thank you so much for these videos. You have taught me how to do wire wrapping and I just love it! My attempts are getting closer to looking like your finished pieces, but I always manage to end up with much less wire at the end than you do. I end up improvising, and the end product looks somewhat different from yours, but pretty, nevertheless.

    Could you please do a tutorial of how to oxidize the finished product. Also what would you do to copper versus gold versus silver versus brass wire. And what if you want to keep the copper look. Thank you. Love your work.

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  Před 5 lety +1

      I did do a video, thanks for asking. You can oxidize copper, sterling and bronze the same way, sterling and fine silver take a little longer in the LOS. I've never oxidized gold. As for keeping the copper bare I thnk you'll need a cleaner of sorts to get in-between the wires. Hope this helps ❤️

    Hey kelly! Thx for all your amazings tutorials. Just a suggestion can you use lenghts instead of times for each pattern? You know I had some problems following some tutorials, in my country our thinner wire is 0.55mm (I'm using in general a combination of 0.55 with 1.0mm or 1.2mm) so if I count "times" for each pattern I end with a much bigger piece. I think if you could add some texts like "follow this pattern 5 times / approx. 4cm" for example, would be very helpfull when we have different sizes of materials.

    • @paulraven8236
      @paulraven8236 Před 3 lety +1

      I'm using for this one 0.55mm with 1.0mm of Silver Nickel wire (not sure if thats the translation is an alloy of nickel/zinc/copper but not brass, is silver color) and a Tiger Eye stone of 10mm. I will comment how was after ends, thanks again, your tutorials are helping me a lot I'm jewelry student but we have classes suspended for pandemia since last year.

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  Před 3 lety

      I use quite fine weaving wire and at the time I wrote weave repeats, you could always match the length of the weaves to your stone and position it as you go. Have fun ❤

    Hello Kelly, firstly I want to thank you for all you do for us as aspiring wire workers. You are kind and it is much appreciated. It takes time and effort to make these videos, and it is a great thing you are doing!
    I am hoping that you can give me the tronex tool item code as when I look the choices for cutters especially are great! I bought the round nose and they are very sharp and pointed and I m not sure they are the same as you use. I would like to collect all the tronex that you use, and intend to start with the cutters. My round nose BTW are number 532. Is this the same as yours? I have to be super careful not to pinch the wires. I do however love the quality of the brand. Hope you can help, kindest regards, Nicola Kim

      Hi, I have really struggled finding the links for the tools available so I just give the names now. I buy all my tools from cookson gold which is in the uk. The cutters are razor flush cutters, the round nose are the short round nose and the pliers are the needle nose pliers. Hope this helps and thanks so much 🌹

    How do you get your base wires so straight? And how do you keep the distance between base wires? Thanks for your beautiful work tutorial!

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  Před 5 lety

      Thank you. I straighten my wires with nylon pliers, I'd be lost with out them. I've put links in the descriptions of my recent videos if you'd like to have a better look at them. As for keeping the distance between wires, try not to pull the weaving wires tight, try to bend them into place rather than pull them. It takes practice but is worth persisting with. Hope this helps 🌹
