Light The Way is a first-person horror adventure game. It takes place in a storage house after your character is kidnapped by a stranger. Main goal of the game is to get out of the storage house. In doing so, you will encounter some puzzles and challenges.
Main gameplay focuses on the Light Gun which shoots light ammos to lighten the areas. For this reason, ammo finding is another element of the gameplay.
Your character is a middle aged man who lives alone. One day he gets a call from their parents about their dog being dead. While he passes through the country roads to his childhood home in the woods, he realizes he's being chased. After that moment, his choices are yours.

I love how the "Push the rack" sequence goes from "anxious panic" to "oh, you're here...."

That's the problem when you design an enemy chase combined with a die & retry mechanic. The feeling of terror quickly fades out and lets place to frustration and eventually the player just doesn't care anymore.
@@zakbm The Forest solved that problem. You get to die once a game day. Twice, and you get to start over from the beginning. Fun times. The achievements tell me two-thirds of players don't make it past the first night in one piece, and of those that have, one-third don't make it five nights.

This is the kind of game that makes me sad. The development spent a whole lot more on the visuals and the aesthetics but almost zero on the story line and.
Also the game using huge limitations on what can and cannot be used as weapons or tactics to get through the level.
The fear and frustration comes from the limitations rather than the creepy environment of the game. Such a shame....

I've been subscribed to his channel long enough and know enough about the basics of yt's algorithm to be pretty certain he got his language in check over the last months/couple of years. It's also understandable by the growth of the channel and the wider audience he's got now compared to back then, which would force him to be more family friendly so to speak. In any case I'm safe to say we're all glad these old, raw videos are still up even if they're not construction/simulator games haha

If you keep the wooden crate with you, you can just hold it up between you and the creatures and they won't see you. You can walk right in front of them and as long as the box is breaking your line of sight with their "face" they'll completely ignore you. Even if they do spot you, if you back away and keep the box up they'll just lose you.

Yea, at least have the decency to make the mechanic MATTER. Like: "Oh, so I have to place down a light bridge to walk over this darkness, but the entites will follow after?" Then you'll need to make SOME SORT of strategy. This is just dumb.

Man I really love Josh and how he plays / destroys games, his dedication to pushing games to the limit is absolutely unreal.
It’s always funny though when I have a mini-marathon going while studying or something, and an older video comes up and Josh starts dropping the F bomb lmao. It’s so unexpected and such a deviation from the current norm (for what I assume to be monetizing purposes) that it’s honestly shocking lol. Honestly more enjoyable and authentic though, always hated the self-censoring that CZcams basically forces now. Man google sucks.
