I kinda like this archetype and I think it gets stronger now after the 3 new unchained soul cards getting released.
I haven't tried tour guide extension yet. It requires another 3 URs. No enough gems also no more bricky wanted

Yes, It's working quite good against current meta like S.E. Tearlaments ,Labrynth. Just toggle off after they made some moves

It's tier 3 deck actually
End board full compo have 6 interruptions and follow up
(The interruptions is 2 special summon negate not once per turn which is means you can negate twice(2), 2 destroy for any cards your opponents control(2), take a monster your opponents control for link matrial as a quick effect(1), you can also link summon with ur opponent monster to knightmare unicorn shuffle a card for additional disturb(1), for a total of 6 interruptions like I said)

Can I see a decklist for both? I always thought unchained would be less consistent without tour guide

I think the difference is about handtraps or the board-wipes cards . Then if you don't like brick, Just reduce the unchained trap cards to 3, Also minimize the total count of unchained lv3 monsters to 3
