- With the new "Strait Out Of The Box: Part 2” box set coming out in Nov. Thought I’d do a cover of one of my favorite George Strait songs, "Wrapped," written by Bruce Robison and recorded live at his studio.

Big fan here. I left Tarleton in 08. Wow, the parties we had when he came to town. Now, back in NTX, married, kids, and running/owning a tractor dealership. I love my life, but man were those the days. I vaguely remember having a shot with Randy at the top in Steamboat. Helluva guy.

Our wedding song. Love George and Randy. Seen RR many times, and met him few times as well. It fit the occasion and he did a great cover. If i could turn back time I would make enough money to have him redo that day, live.

Theres a very thin line when making a cover of a very popular song from a very popular performer, but these guys nailed it. And I get a little Highwaymen vibe listening to that accordion.

I realize these are covers, but i can't help but compare them to george. Most of these are OK to downright crapy, but I could listen to an entire album of Randy singing George Strait covers. This is absolutely fantastic.

Bruce Robison is the original sound. Back in my rodeo days as a bullrider after the event win or lose I always heard this song by Bruce. Like I said... the original the authentic. Nobody plays it better than Mr. Bruce Robison.

I actually think these are all just CZcams covers by these bands (Randy, Josh Abbott, Aaron Watson) as a tribute to George's new box set. I don't think any of these covers will be on the box set.
If I'm correct, the previous album (Strait Out the Box Vol. 1) was country artist, most if not all texas country artist, so I would assume its the same for this one.
No, SOTB vol. 1 was all Strait songs sung and picked by Strait himself from his catalog of songs from the mid 70's thru 1995. It was a 4-discer. This new one is a 3-discer. It's only available thru WalMart. The track listings are on WalMarts' site. Casey Donahew, Jon Wolfe, Cory Morrow, Kevin Fowler, Jon Pardi, and maybe even some more, all created George Strait tribute songs on CZcams prior to this release but none of them, at least according to the track list on WalMart, are on the box set.
