Germany had the most badass army, fought on two fronts, also helped Austria against Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Greece and Romania. As someone from the Czech Republic, we didn't have our own army, but we had legions of Czech and Slovaks. "Only" 140 000 but they fought in many places mainly Italy, France, and Russia. Because of them, our own country Czechoslovakia was formed. In Russia, they fought alongside the whole Trans-Siberian railway moving from west to all the way east while fending off the Red Army using armored trains. They were crazy and if someone is interested in WW1 and our legion, there are many great YT videos in English.

Anibal milhais was a Portuguese soldier , that in the Battle of La Lys , after the death of most of his Division , he found himself alone in the trench with only his Lewis Gun and ammunition, so he single handedly fought 2 German Regiments, and killed several hundred soldier during the 4 days he wandered the front, enabling the retreat of several entire units.
He was awarded the highest Portuguese distinction - The Order of Tower and Sword and the French Légion d’Honneur infront of 15 000 allied Soldiers and was given the nickname “Soldier Millions” by the Major.
