- In January 2015, Christian Schools of Palm Beach County had the privilege of hosting Dr. Del Tackett, founder of Focus on the Family's The Truth Project, at its annual meeting. This is the third of four sessions led by Dr. Tackett.

The Public "Education System" is nothing but an indoctrination into a world of nonsensical world views and harmful degradation of societal Ethics! :( Our local schools. as well as many others, push upon our children "information" they refer to as "fact" and it is nothing but misrepresentations of those facts! An Example would be a book that is required to read in many schools called "THE THINGS WE CARRY" which my own son was handed by his English teacher in High School. While she was walking around, giving it to each student in his class, she was telling the kids that she had read this book herself, and that it was a "Factual" book about the Vietnam War! She said it was a collection of short stories written by people who were really there and about real stories and events that actually took place! My son, having been taught much at home, thought it odd she would pursh this "true" aspect so hard? So he read the reviews. the very first Review started with "This Fictional Piece" .... His English Teacher obviously did not understand what "Fiction" meant or was intentionally misleading the students! To make matters worse, the New York Book Review said of this book that, while saying it was a MUST READ, "this book is intentionally written to place within the readers mind, images that will alter their reality of the Vietnam War!" I'm writing this from memory but that is the gist of it. I thought it was so important I even took pictures of the several pages of reviews at the end of the book. SO... Here, it is, basically admitted to, that they are trying to brainwash children into a viewpoint of the world that is blatantly untrue! Good luck and please teach those kids.... "THE TRUTH" And on a side note, my son refused to read the book, so we met with this "teacher" and I backed him up on his feelings about being forced to read the book! But I told him he had to read another book and the teacher asked him what he would like to read? He chose "UP FROM SLAVERY" by Booker T, Washington, the founder of the Tuskagee Institute. She was furious. She did not want him reading something by a just released slave, wandering around the South, raising finances for an all black college right after the Civil War! His book, written about his adventures from about 1865 until 1881 or so, does not fit the "viewpoint" that many want to portray about attitudes after the end of the Civil War towards African Americans! I think it is a must read, as it once was, before the hate mongers took over our schools :(
Although each situation is different we are called to be salt and light in a dark world and that includes our believing children. They can reach people we can't, teachers, other pupils, caretaking staff. Here in the UK parents picking up children from primary school (4-11) often wait in the playground and have wonderful opportunities to speak to other parents. If we all pull our kids out of anything secular and insulate them how does that help all those other to find Jesus.
