Man I'm just looking around for any inspiration for my valedictorian speech cause it's due in two days and I've got no ideas. This is "brutally honest", but I also think it is inspiring and exactly what people need to hear, so I commend this guy for what he chose to say. I hope to share something that is worth something to everyone, primarily related to their need for a relationship with Jesus Christ my own personal Lord and savior, but I'm still kinda at a loss as to how to do so.

His letting her borrow the lightsaber is the act of kindness that caused her to begin to change from the dark side and selfishness to the light side and selflessness. She couldn't believe someone would do that for her. After all her antagonizing him about it, she was really just being snarky and thought she was pointing out that for all his "goody Jedi beliefs" he was an empty hypocrite who didn't care about others. He proved her wrong even though he didn't want to, because he knew it was the right thing to do, to help save her life. He helped save more than just her life, as this act of kindness changed her heart as she saw he was not an empty hypocrite, but that he practiced what he preached and that serving the force really did lead to being good and helping others in a sacrificial way as he was now without his lightsaber. Her realization of all this is reflected in the lighting of the escape pod which is perhaps my favorite thing about this scene! Korriban was red = sith culture, sith ideas, selfishness, passion and all about me me me. Grenz taught Jayma another way, being good, serving something greater than yourself. Morals, doing the right thing, loving others to the point of giving something up you want = blue. She rejected it, up until the moment he handed her the lightsaber. This changed her attitude towards blue and selflessness as she saw it was authentic and the result was that it was saving her life! Thus the purple in the escape pod. She hasnt fully changed yet. But the red is softening, the blue is coming in, making purple for now. Thus, the name gray trials as well. Light shining into the darkness, and while she's at her "midpoint until you decide who you are" its gray as she is pulled back and forth between the two. She wears gray. *Spoilers ahead for those who havent seen Chapter 7!* At the end she wears white. Her ligthtsaber color however is pink. This reflects her conversion. From red to purple, from dark to gray, and then from purple to pink, from gray to light. Why not blue? Because its her past redeemed. Grenz was not a sith before being a jedi. Jayma was. The pink reflects that journey, but it does not mean gray or in between like the purple does, but it is a fully good and lightside color that also symbolizes her journey and where she came from. It matches with the white, which shows that the gray trials are over, and she is now fully on the side of the light, or at least like Grenz, a work in progress, "Believe it or not...THIS is an improvement" choosing and struggling to serve the Force rather than selfishly doing whatever she wants even betraying others. And it all begins here, on this escape pod, with Grenz's reluctant selfless act in giving her the lightsaber. It changed her heart to want to be good and serve the Force herself, or at least be open to it. The purple lighting reflecting this and the gentle music as the escape pod falls here is the best! Then Arko and the Wookie further help her see other examples of being selfless and helping others in Chapter 4!

Wow, dream team!

For a fan film. This was quite good. Fan films are normally garbage wrapped in a bow of what ever story it follows. This is one of two SW FF I’d like to see more of. It looks like the FF are the only thing that is going to keep SW alive, since Disney is working so hard to kill the franchise. Long live the Republic. I’d like to note. To help improve the if any future productions. The audio sounded like it was recorded in a small room. Maybe some work there. But otherwise quite good. Obviously a great deal of time and effort went into to this. There are a few other fan films of quality on YT. It would be interesting for some of these groups to come together and share production expenses and produce a full length movie. As close to studio quality as they can. Would be fun to see what minds outside of Disney can do to further the franchise. One person already all but gave us season 4 of ST TOS. Called StarTrek Continues. A whole season. If a dedicated fan can produce that quality for ST. Just imagine what the SW fandom could do for this ailing franchise.

This is such wisdom... Every achievement is secondary to the relationships we have with others, with God, and with ourselves. If we neglect this, we lose it all and lose ourselves to gain the whole world.

Oh my God, I love the writing and the world building. This is why fans need to be in charge of making these types of films. They have a passion for it. They truly love this world of space, wizards, aliens, and laser swords. I love the cinematography, great angles, and shots! Disney needs to stop missing around and hire these guys! This was definitely someone's passion project and they put their time into it The biggest downfall on why a lot of the Jedi became disgruntled is because when you take a child away in their development stage from their parent, even if they understand, it's for their benefit you're going to have some serious psychological problems. Anakin had anxious attachment syndrome, abandonment issues. I know the Jedi meant well, they figured they could complete a more intensive training regiment if the young Padawan didn't have any outside hindrance. But we see a perfect example of what happens when a child is taken away from his or her mother or father When we follow the story of Anakin Skywalker. It was clear that he looked at Qui Gon as a parental figure and then when he was killed, Obi-Wan became the brother father figure and friend. Throughout the story, it's clear that Anakin just wants to find stability, love, understanding, and acceptance as well as praise. Things you will not get in the Jedi Academy. That's why they said he was too old to complete the training because he had already formed a bond with his mother like any other child. I kind of wonder if Anakins mother was allowed to be freed and taken to croissant with Anakin, Anakin would have the parental figure he needed. Although Sly being raised by his mother, he might develop nice guy syndrome, but that's a far cry from becoming Darth Vader (Spoilers) hehe.
