- Forget about marks on the edge of the wood when cutting a circle. This woodworking trick uses two pivot points to cut a perfect circle with the jigsaw. We do not need to drill a hole to pass the cutting blade. I'm going to use a simple circle cutting jig, and what I do first is cutting a larger arc, with a larger radius, that is tangent to the circle that I want to cut. When the cut reaches the point of tangency I can already change to the pivot point in the center of the circle and finish cutting the wood. The result is a perfect edge.
Of course I need to use my jig with bearings that keeps the cutting blade of the jigsaw vertical:

Use a router, not au jigsaw.
Why? Routers make a lot of saw dust and usually need more that one pases to cut the circle. With my jigsaw jigs I can cut perfect circles in plywood boards and also in solid wood boards 😀
