- Diagnosing cerebral palsy (CP) at an early age is important for the long-term outcome of children and their families. Our Early Detection Initiative is lowering the age of detection from 2 years to 6 months so that babies can get the interventions and supports they need when it matters most.

I am currently going through this exact thing. Forceps delivery caused head swelling and torticollis. Baby is now 7 months old and going through the steps to either diagnose or rule out mild CP. we noticed early on that movement in the left side (particularly arm and hand) was stiff and delayed compared to the right. Brought it up with physio (we were seeing from the birth trauma) and our baby scored low on the neurological exam for CP. Early intervention is absolutely critical with CP. @@goochasbruh @goochasbruh when is the neurological exam for cp? What month?
@@s.elizabeth1753 we had it done between 5/6 months. Only due to the concerns we had raised with the physio. We are in Australia. I know health systems are different across the globe.
@@goochasbruh Hi there, i am going through the same situation right now and am scared for my baby. Can you give me an update on how your baby is doing now? Is there any problem currently visible to you? I also live in Australia and the doctors did the same to my baby.
