A part of why the season ended the way that it did was it was the whole book. While Neil and Terry had planned out more to create a second book, Terry passed before it came to be.
They find Crowley guilty of murdering a demon (who was probably returned when Adam reset the day anyway) and then murder a demon to test the holy water to punish Crowley. Makes sense.
I sure hope you did go back to rewatch their remarkable acting as one other!! It's such a treat
I love rewatching this episode knowing the body swap twist, because then you get to notice all the little details of the two of them acting like the other.
With regards to your ship or not to ship question, though I think that's probably sailed, it's been confirmed by both actors that on the bus ride back to London, Aziraphale and Crowley are in fact holding hands. Also, according to Neil Gaiman (this was before season 2, so not entirely a spoiler) he sees Crowley and Aziraphale retiring to a cottage out in the country; presumably so Crowley can torture plants to his heart's content and Aziraphale can have books piled to the rafters. Also, I like to imagine that they occasionally meddle in the lives of their neighbors because they just can't help themselves.
Regarding your chances as a human to join and hang out with the 4 horsemen... read the book! You won't be disappointed 😉

Some fun tip. If you or anybody has Spotify premium. Now they include free audiobooks. Good Omens is one of them! There is a brilliant adaptation with the cast of the Amazon series. I loved it I highly recommend it 😁

Season 1 covered the entire book of Good Omens. Nothing else was printed to continue the series.
However Neil Gaiman spoke how he and Terry Prachet had some ideas to continue the series. It included to add more Angel characters (like Gabriel, Michael, etc) but sadly Terry Passed away in 2015, due to Alzheimer’s. So he left Neil to adapt the series. Good for us it had such great success because they green lit season 2 some months after.
Also this is not a spoiler but a heads up to avoid some posible confusion. 3 actresses from season 1 came back to season 2 to play new characters.
I saw a couple of reactions ( newb fans) were super confused and thought it was part of the story. No it was mostly Neil’s choice and probably budget saving.
Actually, this is very very common in older British media. Shows like Blackadder would reuse all the same actors as different characters year after year.

Have loved your reactions! It's been such a joy seeing your response to Crowley and Aziraphale and loved your thoughts on the story. It really was a perfect ending for what was supposed to be a limited series show as there was never a second book. So glad that the story got to continue for a S2 and now picked up for a 3rd and final season so Neil can finish the story he and Terry set out to tell! I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOUR S2 REACTIONS!!!
