Tons of negative comments here. Most calling him a fake artist. Here's the kicker. He's not the artist, he is the art. A living performance piece that is a commentary on the so called world of "high art".
This is highlighting the question of whether or not people can think for themselves. It's the ultimate banksy reveal that he in a sense created this guy with one sentence, and now he is actually successful. It really highlights the way society blindly follows the crowd. It's ok to think something that banksy or anyone likes or endorsed is shit. It doesn't matter what banksy or anyone thinks. It matters what you think. In fact, I find it quite refreshing when I meet someone who can call out what they think is shit, when they see it. #freethinker . Damn this world is so fucked

Banksy's MBW is actually quite smart. He saw street art begin to become something valuable and then shat all over it with the story of this guy.
Art with no bite to it, im sure the elite are happy for this man to be advertised everywhere, watered down distraction compared to Banksy. Not to sure what Banksy would have to say about being Prince Harry or Jay Z, me personally id take it as an insult.

If Banksy was never about the money,why hi start producing art for sale!!!! Its all about marketing and money at the end!and this cheeky french just proved it,going the easy way!After all there are no rules in art,and if someone is ready to pay 20 000 for a splash of paint this is how much its worth! ;)

and i say so because i "dont see anything" in it, beyond a bunch of nice pictures and nice vivid colours, its just about appearance. "his" (theyre not his, but done by artist, which are anyway influenced by his lack of aristic soul) things do not transmit my emotions, do not have meanings, and he knows that too. Bansky, well, i cant describe what i feel with his masterpieces, its not only about the meaning, which you have anyway to find, it is about the deep meaning behidn it, the veeeery deep

This guy, who I have been aware of for a long time, is not an artist. He is a human xerox machine will a serious malfunction. His art sucks. He thinks the more paint he uses the better. The guy is a hack, but he is passionate and that much I totally respect.

concept behind it, in a balance between idea, concept, social criticism and so on. All these things are obviously missing in MBW. Even his nickname is a commercial make up. To me he reminds me of mtv built singers, justin bieber...And above all, i didnt like at all that he sells one thing for 18000 dollars just because he spraied a yellow on it, this is cheating the people, for me. it's like that pizzeria in new york selling a pizza for 1000 dollars with caviale on it!!! it's exactly the same

But well, what can i say, i dont agree with him, i dont conceive him as an artist, not at all, thats out of discussion for me, but i dont have anything against him, i mean, i even dont see him as an offence to art, just because for me he doesnt have anything to do with art. But well, if id see that from an artistic point of view, as Bansky does, well i would hate him, because he represents the opposite than art is for me...

well i saw in exit throuhg bla bla that for instance he just sprais a colour over a stamp and sells that for 18.000 dollars, or the way he did those 200 canvases for the first 200 visitors (on his weelchair, being even pulled by another person), well this is not art for me, i would call it commercial art, which is an oximor, actually, so it is not art...i mean the appearance is very nice, many colours and so on, i would like to visit one of "his" exibhitions, but that s just not art...
