Most underrated movie ever!
Forget all those other Jungle book movies and only focus on this one, because this one is the only one you need to know!!
Who the hell could dislike this? This is arguably some of the most beautiful music in cinematic history. Basil Poledouris was an absolute legend.
For all those who can see this from the future, we were here to witness this musical genius. We were here.
Saw this in the theatre with my family. I was just a little kid but I remember being captivated by that intro. You knew something epic was about to begin!
There will only be one Jungle Book in my book, Disney can try and make all the remakes they want but this Jungle Book will always be MY Jungle Book!
I'm right there with you.
Most underrated movie ever
Basil Poledouris was a genius. Totally underrated.
Got rest his soul 16 years ago
good movie, good soundtrack
I can remember as a child, one day, when my kindergarten years were almost over, the teacher put this vhs on the tv for us to watch. The opening credits and luscious score captivated me and stole my breath away. The drama / funny / touching moments, the music, the characters, even the scenery in the jungles of India were breathtaking. It became my favorite film to watch as a child growing up. In fact, this was the film that introduced me to the famous Blue Danube Waltz. I was around 5 or 6 years old at the time. This brings back the memories!
William Raih Well said! And thanks for sharing!
William Raih i was 7 years old when i watched it and it's still my favourite movie
@@agustinaperez5326 probably at that age when we all come to terms to the stages of dramatic moments in films we enjoy and so forth
Same! My older sister put the vhs up for me and my little sister when I was about 5-6 years old. My favorite part of the soundtrack is at 1:05. It bring back so many memories and emotions. I remember sitting on the couch watching it, my mom even made a picture of that moment.
@@WizardOfHumor1989 for me that’s at 1:45
The music has a depth that you can't skip to accept from the inside. This is pure magic one Poledouris managed to immortalize. It's so beautiful!
this the same guy who did the score for the movie ''Free Willy''
This is the best version of The Jungle Book.
For those who don't know it, Jason Scott Lee, the man who portrays Mowgli is the one who portrays the villain Bori Khan, from the live action of "Mulan"
The 1994 live version of The Jungle Book has one of my favourite soundtracks. Especially the song at the end called Two Different Worlds. And it’s wonderful to see real animals treated respectfully as they should be in reality so they can survive too.
Basil Poledouris was a genious. He is a bit underrated though. I think that he is at the same level than John Williams or Jerry Goldsmith in their prime.
cosme28 *genius ;) But yeah, I agree - he was a musical genius. Soundtrack fanatics don't underrate this legend, but he may have not been as well known among "common folks", no.
+cosme28 Underrated ? No way. I remember that his work for Conan (1982) was regarded as on of the best Soundtracks ever.
his music is very John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith.
@@HAL-xo2fj That's the problem. He's mostly only remembered for _Conan_. However, he did many other good scores, and most of them are for not so well-known movies.
Ive been playin music since 8 years old. dont get much better than this, folks.
This film has a better score than the new one. Fact.
Sloth55Chunk
I agree
Same goes for Conan, I wonder why XD
Not just the music but overall. Shere khan is not demonized as evil (in an era where tigers are critically injured), no silly CGI. Real people and animals.
And is better than the new one!
My childhood ❤
My whole body is covered in goose bumps!
*childhood goosebumps*
+Max Walker childish Poledouris bumps
Me too! I’m with ya!
My childhood and My Jungle Book, and they are both INCREDIBLE AND INDEPENDENT
This is my favorite version of the Jungle book movie, because Shere Khan doesn't die.
Growlie26 he doesn't die in the animated one tho he was kinda set on fire and ran like a pussy
Shere Khan doesn't die either in The Second Jungle Book: Mowgli & Baloo and the Disney cartoon versions of The Jungle Book.
Jungle Book 1994 > Jungle Book 2016, very different but I prefer Stephen Sommers's version !!!
Et la musique de Basil Poledouris est juste magistrale !
I Also Prefer Stephen Sommers's Version Of The Jungle Book Too Also.
One of Stephen Somers' better films. And what a great score!
My childhood! Oh the nostalgia
Bellissimo film e bellissima colonna sonora Grazie di averla aggiunta! Davvero!
Way better than the 2014 Jungle Book in my opinion. This movie was so underrated and unnoticed but it was fantastic.
Man this hit hard to my memories
Epic
Dang, this Opening Scene i've remember when i was 5-6 that I used to that Movie on VHS back in the Day.
Thank you so much for uploading this (and in such great quality!) Was and still is one of the most beautiful soundtracks of all time by the late great Basil Poledouris.
I've had a strong affinity for this film as a child, as different as it was from the animated Jungle Book. As an adult, it makes for a solid companion piece to Greystoke: The Lord of the Apes.
It could easily be a film for adults not just for kids. The content is never childish, plus the gorgeous soundtrack.
you know this starred a young Lena Hedey.
(Insert Game of Thrones joke here)
Max Walker
I don't really have one, I just thought folks would like to know.
@@GroundhogDayisAWESOME Cersei is what Kitty would have become if she had married Boone and they had kept the monkey treasure.
3:58 forever.
*1:50**-**2:10** chills* 😭😭
Can somebody please explain to me why this Disney movie is not on Disney Plus?!
If the new film had this score, you'd have a perfect film!
Tema hermoso e inspirador
I just check Disney+ and they don't have this movie available for streaming! Talk about a crime against humanity!!!
I appreciate that someone else noticed that. I looked for this movie and Angels in the Outfield. Both not there. The Jungle Book has been placed in HBO streaming and the other in Stars.
Don't say Rhys Alfa videos our messed up you got 4 sub's Rhys got 85
