  • This video covers what you need to know about Azure Network Security Groups and Application Security Groups. I started with the idea of a quick video on Network Security groups. Things snowballed from there, and it ended up being a comprehensive review of Network Security Groups (NSG) and application Security Groups (ASG). I also added some bonus content on verifying IP flow with Network Watcher. This video is intended as an introduction to NSG’s. However, stick around even if you’ve used NSG’s for a while. There may be some new information here for you.
    00:00 - Start
    05:36 - Create an NSG
    06:21 - Create and Configure NSG Rules
    10:04 - Associate the NSG to a Resource
    11:19 - Validate NSG flow rules
    14:23 - Verify IP Flow
    17:13 - Application Security Groups
    19:13 - Create an ASG
    20:05 - Associate an ASG to a NIC
    20:58 - Use an ASG in a NSG Rule

    Thank you for this! Currently Net+ & Sec + certified but brand new to the Azure environment and studying for the AZ-900 & AZ-104
    Your video displayed exactly HOW NSGs work in unison with ASGs, beautifully done! 🙏✝️

    Hey there, i've been watching some of your Azure content, looks great!!
    Is there's a chance you'll create a video on how to use Azure function in order to start/stop Azure vm's?

    Suppose a way of thinking about ASGs is like carving up a subnet into self-defined service tags.

    Very informative video! I have one question: Every time we add a rule to the NSG (Network Security Group), do we need to apply it to the subnet again? I added a couple of rules to the NSG, but they don't take effect until I go back and apply them to the subnet

    • @Ciraltos
      @Ciraltos  Před rokem

      You shouldn't need to. Give it a minute or two after changing the rule. It can take time for the change to replicate.
