    0:05 Intro
While cats are often seen as indifferent and distant, animal behavior experts argue that this perception is completely inaccurate. In fact, cats do have emotion and, our daily actions can significantly impact their well-being. So, in today’s video, we'll be exploring nine Everyday Things that HURT Your Cat's Feelings.
    0:26 9. Wearing Perfume
Cats have more than 200 million odor receptors in their noses, a stark contrast to the 5 million receptors present in human noses. Therefore, potent scents like perfume and scented candles can cause discomfort to their sensitive noses.
0:45 8. Picking Them Up or Petting Them Incorrectly
In addition to their heightened senses of smell and hearing, cats are responsive to touch. Stroke them in the correct spot and your cat will purr, but touching them in the wrong place can make them anxious and annoyed, as can unexpectedly picking them up or hugging them.

1:13 7. Disturbing Them While Eating
Cats are naturally vigilant when there is excessive noise and commotion during meal times. A noisy and bustling environment can lead to stress, hindering cats from eating or causing them to consume their food too quickly. Playing loud music, children engaging in loud video games, or shouting throughout the house can disrupt your cat's mealtime.
1:38 6. Not Providing Mental Stimulation
Cats require ample mental stimulation for their well-being and happiness. Increase playtime with them or provide toys to keep them entertained while you are at work. If you reside in a compact living space, think about introducing a second cat. Having a companion to play and socialize with can significantly enhance the stimulation and happiness of indoor cats.
    2:05 5. A Dirty Litter Box
Just as using a dirty bathroom is unpleasant for humans, cats also dislike having a dirty litter box. Cats are known for their cleanliness and spend a significant amount of time grooming themselves. If their litter box is not kept clean, cats may choose to relieve themselves elsewhere. Cleaning your cat's litter box daily will result in a content cat and demonstrate that you acknowledge and honor its needs.
    2:34 4. Neglecting Them
Cats can become depressed if they do not receive attention, affection, interaction, conversation, and playtime from their owners. Despite the misconception that cats are not social animals, they benefit from human interaction and affection. It is essential to be open to giving and receiving affection from your cat, even if they are initially reserved.
3:00 3. Leaving Old Food Out
Spoiled food can make cats sick, so it's important to serve them fresh food that they appreciate. Cats may avoid food that has been left out too long, possibly due to their instinct to avoid spoiled meat. Respecting their preference for fresh food shows that you understand and value them.
    3:22 2. Ignoring Their Pain
Since cats cannot communicate in human language, pet owners must observe physical and behavioral changes to understand their cat's well-being. Whether it's a dental issue affecting eating or a urinary problem causing discomfort, it is our responsibility to interpret subtle cues and provide necessary assistance. Monitoring your pet's health requires being attentive to signs of pain and discomfort to ensure your cat receives the care it needs.
    3:53 1. Declawing Them
Declawing is extremely painful for cats. This procedure can also make cats feel vulnerable and defenseless. The American Veterinary Medical Association states that declawed cats may experience emotional distress due to their inability to scratch, which is a natural behavior. It is both unrealistic and unkind to try to suppress a cat's natural instincts.

Good video but perhaps you could give examples of ways to improve like you stated "picking up or petting incorrectly" how do we know if we're doing it wrong? Other than that thanks for the information.
