The meat puppets are so good you can see why kurt was a big fan.
Cool to see they went back in time and got Mark Arm from the 80's to play drums.
quality comment. underrated
I feel shivers hearing that guitar solo. Not much music does that to me these days
Why aren't these guys in the rock and roll hall of fame?
As far as I'm concerned, they went in with Nirvana
Who cares if they have mainstream appeal or not. Boring people think that way.
Because the Hall of Fame is for pretentious douchebags that want their name immortalized that's why you have to sell your soul to the devil to become famous
Exactly!!! Should’ve happened after they made SAM!
they should be. Original classics
Guitar, bass, drums, all great musicians, don't need more than that to have a really good rock band!
musicians? literally magicians bro
True.🎉
GUYS IT'S OK TO LIKE BOTH!
Do people forget that?!
Who didn’t like that?
Generly they do yes..
Exactly! I like both Curt and Cris Kirkwood
Thanks to Nirvana I met the Meat Puppets, they haven't had a tremendous success, some say it's unfortunate, but what if they wanted it that way? After all, that was what Kurt Cobain wanted.
Meat Puppets are a great band, that you have to know how to value.
Yes
cobain was 26 when he made that perf version, and the meat puppets were backing him up! theses guys here are in their 50s, and still pretty solid!
Kurt Cobain expressed that this song kick-started The Grunge movement in Seattle eight- nine years later. They kick ass massively!
that solo was face melting
I think my face is still melting honestly!!
🌵Meat puppets write some great songs such as this. These desert cats have so many good tunes in their catalog
Thanks Kurt for turning me on to these guys.
The exact middle point between Neil Young and Nirvana. Thats not to take anything away from either but to put the puppets up there or even above them all.
It's a shame I didn't appreciate these guys when I was younger. You can totally hear how they influenced Kurt Cobain. Awesome.
Nirvana version and original are both great, but c'mon the guitar solo is just exquisite to hear, also the end of plateau o.o
Did you listen the both versions of Meat Puppets?... Both are fucking amazing, Nirvana is just a the cherry on the cake's top
I wish I could find a tab for it
@elcesarjosue1364 Yes this is more like the second version the Meat Puppets brought out after Nirvana did their version. But the original meat puppets version is from 1982
What kind of monster would thumbs down this jam. THIS IS THE SHIT!!!!!
That crash cymbal he’s using is perfect for this song. It really explodes!
Long time fan since I was a grommy surfing with the crew trashing meat puppets thinking we were different from the masses! They still blow me away
The way it was performed on the original recording is the best!
What the original from 1984?
Amazing. Man
If this doesn't make you wanna stand up and raise a flag for pure Rock, then you're missing it!
i'm missing it... this is shit
Aye
Awesome Wells how
what a great performance! Sound is absolutely perfect!
best live version of this song i've heard!
It’s my go to when I need to learn someone about the Puppets, I could not agree more!!
A VERY underrated Team of Sound Sorcerers
Fantastic band.
one of the best Halloween songs out there
reminds me of neil young
I can definitely see a Neil Young type of soloing, but I kind of think curt isn't as idiosyncratic of a player. Possibly a more technical player, as opposed to Neil who seems to draw from disorganized melodies. But overall, theyre both creative guitarists for sure!
I'm a huge Nirvana fan but I think I love this version more (which is good because it's their song)
drummer n bass on the solo...
its awsome...!!
I DON'T CARE HOW OLD GOOD MUSIC IS GETING IT IS STILL AWESOME! AND THEY AIN'T EVEN GETING OLD!
thanks nirvana for introducing me to meat puppets
what a solo man
Kurt was a fan of meat puppets ....
Grunge forever
Gotta dig a dude using a deep well socket to produce a sound like that on a vintage Les Paul!
What a trip
I love this
mesmerizing performance
Best crowd ever! :D
Beautiful!
Thanks again for the signed Meiko poster Kink/Bing!
I can't get over seeing grunge rockers in their 50's. Where has the time gone?
***** Good one!
They’re older than grunge. Just had a hit in grunge’s peak popularity
David Tapper yeah 1980 old..
Yep, this is the best.
The solo..... awesome!!
WOW -excellent !
The drummer is so cute 😊. & GREAT song 🎵 🎶, well done‼️👍
Love it!!!
Alas, summer has come, and gone.

Can't repost this enough !
FANTASTIC!
I saw this guys in Panama City, live !! surreal !
This rocks, I like it
i would have liked to hear this song like this ( not acoustic ) w/ kurt doing vocals- this solo is untouchable - awesome - the best !!!
Wow. what a great jam.
the best
Brilliant musicians!
This is after 20 years a real classic! Classic rock from the 90 ties!
80s
@@magicmurphyand closing in on 40 years 😯
Glad I saw this.
I'll be out near Portland next month.
Can I visit your station and play a song?
Sincerely
Buzzy Coyote
Epic solo!
his soloing reminds me a lot of early jorma kaukonen (jefferson airplane days)
love that ol stickered up LP ! Trippy lead too
One of the greatest songs ever written. I call it the 4th of July song! 😎
Impresionante!!!
Thank you for inspirate nirvana
Dope ass solo
fantastisch!
Meat puppets never captured this far out jam sound in the studio. I hope they come to Toronto to play live...
Well.. Thats an eye opener
The Meat Puppets were a MUCH more important and lasting band than Nirvana, some people don’t get it and that’s okay but these guys changed my life. I saw them open for John Cale in Miami and left a changed man. You can do so much more with guitar, bass and drums than most people realize and they don’t get it when it happens.
Cuando la música tenía alma
Don't care who you think is best. Keep it to yourself.
badass tune
Love the Guitar from Curt Kirkwood \o/
I heard that the bikers in Tempe, AZ would always ask for this one during the Puppets regular gigs there (in the 80's).
Beyond their time
I'm just know in 2020.. This real voice from Yr dude..... So nice👍👍👍👍👍👍🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎸🎤🎺👏👏💪
Eu sei para "onde vão os caras maus quando morrem" adoro Meat puppets.
amaizing
Muito boom!
Where do bad folks go when they die?
They don't go to Heaven where the angels fly
They go to the Lake of fire and fry
See 'em again 'til the fourth of July!
I knew a lady who came from Duluth
Bit by a dog with a rabid tooth
She went to her grave just a little too soon
Flew away howling on the yellow moon
Where do bad folks go when they die?
They don't go to Heaven where the angels fly
They go down to the lake of fire and fry
See 'em again 'til the fourth of July
People cry and people moan
Look for a dry place to call their home
Try to find someplace to rest their bones
While the angels and the devils try to make them their own
Where do bad folks go when they die?
They don't go to Heaven where the angels fly
They go down to the lake of fire and fry
See 'em again 'til the fourth of July
Solo is amazing
Muy buen tema....
Power..
hard blues-folk psychodelic
I DID NOT KNOW YOU COULD EVEN DO THAT WITH A GUITAR
🤘🎵🤘🎶 They are amazing . I totally dig this version‼️🥰
Hard to beat the sound of an old, beat up Les Paul.
simplesmente os mestres da psicodelia grunge.
Only the original artist can play the song exactly how it was meant. A cover is a different artist's interpretation on a song.
but they played this song with nirvana... there is no nirvana version... are the same guys but with kurt kobain in the vocals...
@@thepoppunx Exactly, and with dave on drums
Its a Meat Puppets song b4 Nirvana recorded it
Im fucking loving this !
wtf was that? 3 humans rocking out . Impossible to ever recreate. It’s just blowing in the wind .
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
epic
The Meat Puppets. They will always be rememered as the band that played in Nirvana's unplugged, unfair but still huge. Young people maybe can not understand those days when everyday was the last day on Earth. Nirvana got out of course and they (Cobain) declared war on pop culture (where they were kings) like an autoimmune disease. Dead the dog, the rabies is gone. A shame. It seemed that popular culture began to do its genuine self-criticism, trend that landed before takeoff. Now Rock is a caricature, and to be optimistic, that's a good start for a brand new cycle
its in the making
Kōji Kabuto - Nemeste, my friend. The owl remains perched; the rabbit cries.
Nice words
Spaced out!
Wow unreal Kurt fuckin kills it they all do
it think thats an understatement
Tripping of the solo...
So fucking great!!!!!
